Milestone
Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. The action in the CPL will continue on 26th August 2023. It will see a contest between Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders. The first ball will be at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). For now, this is Omkar Iyer signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, and scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Until then, take care and goodbye!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "Feels proud to win the game as skipper. Happy for the boys as they executed the plans to perfection. Their overs are crucial in the middle overs. Motie was brilliant and that is why they picked him. I look to play positive cricket and everyone in our rank is capable of doing that. There will be a day when they might lose wickets but Hope and Hetmyer certainly showed their quality."
Evin Lewis (St Kitts & Nevis Patriots Captain): "Very positive. You know, knowing the battles we have, I know we always back ourselves to get a score, but unfortunately, it didn't come out today.  Yeah, definitely, I feel so on the wicket. Wasn't as true as we thought.  I always ask my team to give me a good start and a good finish, but unfortunately, it didn't come off today.

We always get a good crowd here, and I'm pretty much thankful to the fans who always come out and support us. Unfortunately, we didn't get a win for them today, so hopefully on Saturday, we can
put a smile on their face."
Time for the post-match presentation.
Gudakesh Motie (Player of the match): "Hitting the right area, it was a very good pitch. So once you hit the right area, you get wickets. [speaking about Imran Tahir] Yeah, I really enjoy bowling alongside him because he has a lot of experience and yeah, I enjoy it. Yeah, shout out to the fans then. Thank you for your support."
Guyana Amazon Warriors were exceptional with the ball in hand, especially their spinners who worked in tandem and combined for 6 wickets. Gudakesh Motie stood out with the ball with his four-wicket haul. His best figures in the CPL as well. Imran Tahir was taken to the cleaners in his very first over, but managed to end on a high with two crucial wickets. Other than that, the rest of the seamers that were used, all chipped in with a wicket apiece.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were off to horror start in this high run chase as they lost Fletcher in the second over itself. To rub salt on their wounds Da Silva slipped out cheaply as well and that meant they could only score 37 runs inside the Powerplay with the loss of two wickets. Then, it was a solid stand of 55-runs between Rayudu and Lewis that took them to safer shores, although the skipper fell short two runs of his half-century. More importantly, if he could've survived a little longer then things could've been different for them, but that wasn't the case here. Later on, no one really put their hand up with the bat and the Patriots started to lose wickets at regular intervals. Rayudu was their only hope, but only he slipped out, it was just a domino effect and eventually they got bundled out for 132 runs.
GAME OVER! Guyana Amazon Warriors have bagged their first win of this campaign and they move to third spot in the points table. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots once again fall short here and suffer another huge defeat in this competition.
16.5 D Pretorius to I Naveed
W In the air, Hetmyer takes a good catch at the edge of the boundary. Short of a length delivery on the stumps. Naveed bends low and looks to pull it over the mid-wicket but fails to get enough elevation on it as the ball flies straight on the throat of Hetmyer, who takes a good sharp catch at the edge of the boundary rope. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots are bundled out for 132 runs, falling 65 runs short of the target. A comprehensive victory for Guyana Amazon Warriors, and they will boost their net run rate as well with this big win.
16.4 D Pretorius to I Naveed
0 Short of a length slower delivery outside off. Naveed swings and misses.
16.3 D Pretorius to O Thomas
1 Back of a length slower delivery around off. Thomas lofts it to long-on for a run.
16.2 D Pretorius to O Thomas

16.1 D Pretorius to I Naveed
