That turned out to be a quality game of cricket and we can expect the same in the upcoming two T20Is between both the sides.

Hoping for more fireworks and excitement as we move ahead, until then you take very good care of yourselves, this is Wali, Akshay and Ashok signing off!
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Skipper and Player of the match): "Really proud with the team's efforts, they've been putting in the hard work for the last couple of months. The plan was to stick there till the 16th over and then take the game on. The coaching staff has given me a lot of support and that has led me to score the runs."
Player of the Match: Nigar Sultana
Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Women Skipper): "I'm not worried about the outcome of the game. It's part of the game. We have to stick to the basic plans. We were not good with the ball and in the field. In the 19th over, I was poor and conceded too many runs. We have to focus on the next two games and try to bounce back. I'm not worried about my game because I always try to stay positive out in the middle."
01:10 PM IST: Time for the post-match presentation.

So that’s that and it’s the Bangladesh Women who have come out on top with a win by six wickets in an exhilarating manner!

Batting first the Sri Lankans posted a fighting total of 145/6 from 20 overs. Chamari Athapaththu was her usual self up the order as she posted a vital 38 (28) with two fours and three sixes to her name. However, it was Harshitha Samarawickrama who topped the charts with her 45 (44) that kept the score ticking.

Nilakshi de Silva also contributed with her 29 (28) which got Sri Lanka to a decent first innings score considering the purchase the spinners were getting off the deck.

Fahima Khatun was the pick of the bunch for Bangladesh Women with the ball as she bowled a spell of 2/20 from four overs. Rabeya Khatun, Nahida Akter, Sultana Khatun and Fariha Trisna also chipped in with a wicket apiece.

As for the run chase, the Bangladesh Women got off to a poor start. The opening duo of Shamima Sultana 5 (6) and Rubya Haider Jhilik 9 (16) were dismissed cheaply as Kavindi and Prabodhani got into the act.

Sobhana Mostary did play a jammy innings in the middle and chimed in to a 51 run stand with Nigar Sultana to provide some stability in the middle. The pressure and the required rate was getting onto the Bangladeshi batters. But the captain Nigar Sultana continued to show her class throughout the innings as she stormed her way to 75 (51)*. Sultana was provided terrific support from Ritu Moni at the other end as she compiled an invaluable 33 (23).

The duo struck a match winning 71 run partnership and took the game on in the penultimate over as they smashed veteran Athapaththu for 17 runs. With just eight runs needed off the final over, the Tigresses made sure to cross the line with the final score being 146/4 from 19.5 overs.

The Sri Lankan bowling unit will be disappointed to let the game slip away in the final few overs and will be keen on bouncing back in the upcoming fixture.

19.5 I Ranaweera to N Sultana
1 Nigar Sultana does it for Bangladesh Women. What a brilliant knock this has been from the Bangladesh skipper. She takes her side across the line with one ball to spare. This was a flighted delivery on leg and Sultana sweeps it towards deep square leg for a single. She lets out a big roar after completing the single. Bangladesh Women beat Sri Lanka Women by six wickets to go 1-0 up in the series.

19.4 I Ranaweera to N Sultana
W A mix-up in the middle and Moni is run out at the non-striker's end. This was a flighted delivery on the pads, Sultana mistimes the sweep in the leg side. Moni wanted the run and is halfway down the track but is sent back by her skipper. Sanjeewani is quick to the ball and throws at the non-striker's end where Ranaweera collects it and dislodges the bails as Moni is well short of the crease.
19.3 I Ranaweera to N Sultana
2 Flighted delivery around off, Sultana steps out and drives it towards long off. The throw comes in and Ranaweera fails to collect it cleanly. The batters sneak another run on the overthrow. Athapaththu is not happy with it. Bangladesh Women now require just one run to win now off three balls.
19.2 I Ranaweera to R Moni
1 Tossed up on leg, Moni steps out of the crease and heaves it towards deep mid wicket for a single. 3 from 4 now.
19.1 I Ranaweera to R Moni
4 FOUR!!!!! In the gap and four. Beautifully played by Ritu Moni. Ranaweera bowls it short and turns away after pitching, Moni cuts it hard past the diving point fielder. The fielder from inside the circle chases after it but comes second.
Bangladesh Women require 8 runs from 6 balls to win this contest.

4 FOUR!!!! Bangladesh Women are back in this game. Athapaththu fires this on the pads, Sultana gets inside the line of the ball and sweeps it fine past short fine leg for a boundary. The fielder from inside the circle chases after it but fails to stop it.
18.5 C Athapaththu to N Sultana
6 SIXXXX!!!!! Sultana is keeping her side in the game. Athapaththu bowls a flighted delivery on the stumps, Sultana steps out of the crease and tonks it over the long off fence for a biggie. Excellent from the Bangladesh skipper.
