Getting 30s and 40s, but not getting the big ones is hurting us. It's the team combination and that's why I am batting down the order. I am happy to bat at 6. 9:51 PM IST| Prince: A Comprehensive win for Sylhet Strikers as they thumped by Khulna Tigers by 31 runs and qualified for the next round.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Sylhet Strikers posted a mammoth score of 192 runs for loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs against the strong bowling attack of Khulna Tigers. Towhid Hridoy was the top contributor for Sylhet Strikers, as he scored 74 runs off 49 balls with the help of 9 boundaries, while Zakir Hasan scored 53 runs in 38 balls. On the flip side, Mark Deyal chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Nahidul Islam and Nahid Rana extracted a solitary wicket for each.
In pursuit of the Sylhet Strikers’ mammoth score of 192 runs total, the Khulna Tigers got off to a slow start as they scored 40 runs for loss of 2 wickets. Tamim Iqbal and Andrew Balbirnie opened for Khulna Tigers. They lost 2 wickets in quick succession after that, Shai Hope and Mahmudul Hasan Joy tried to build some partnerships but their progress was halted as Sai Hopes departed with 33 runs off 22 balls. Then Azam Khan hits some mighty sixes and boundaries in the middle but not helped to his team to finish the line of victory. Tamim Iqbal(12 runs off 10 balls), Andrew Balbirnie(7 runs off 7 balls), and Yasir Ali(4 runs off 4 balls) failed to impress with the bat. Azam Khan and Sai Hope were the top run-scorer for his team, they both scored 33 runs, while Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored 20 runs off 21 balls. On the flip side, Rubel Hossain was the pick of the bowler he scalped 4 wickets, while Rejaur Rahman Raja and Mohammad Amir chipped in with a couple of wickets each and Imad Wasim extracted a solitary wicket.
A Comprehensive win for Sylhet Strikers and they will look to carry the momentum in the upcoming matches. On the other side, Khulna Tigers need to regroup and come back stronger in the upcoming matches.
