That is it for the night from the ILT20 2023. Another MI win here as they go up in the points table. Sharjah Warriors, on the other hand, are in real trouble, losing all three games they played. We will be back tomorrow with the match between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Desert Vipers. Until then, it is me AkshayaKrishna Polya signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Chandan Kr Singh brought you all the live-action of this fixture!
DJ Bravo (Player of the Match): "Yeah, I think coming here, we know what to expect. It was on the slower side, and hence no need to bowl slower ones. It needed to be wicket to wicket here and on the right length. Obviously, I haven't played recently, and to play back-to-back games here, you get some stiffness. We have a good medical team, and I had good massage and gym sessions as well. A slight difference from Abu Dhabi. The pitch here is a bit slower compared to that of Abu Dhabi."
Kieron Pollard (MI Emirates Skipper): "Good feeling to get points on the board. A bit disappointed with the way we started with the ball. Had to take the boys together after two overs which doesn't happen in international cricket. Winning is a habit and losing is also a habit. It's a new franchise but has been a good journey for us so far. We look to take care of the boys but when you win, you get that confidence. You don't want to chop and change and try to finish in the top two. Obviously, Siddique is a strong competitor in T10 cricket as well and you have to be competitive on the field by taking the joy out of it. Happy to compete with him tonight."
Moeen Ali (Sharjah Warriors Skipper): "We had a brilliant start in the first half of the innings. But lost too many wickets in the middle overs, which was our downfall. We needed to bat well and score a good total, but we failed to get there. Bravo and Tahir bowled well in the middle overs and restricted us. There was dew in the second innings. No excuses. We need a bit of good total here. We need to continue playing well and continue toiling hard in search of a win."
Super Fours of the Match goes to Will Smeed for striking six 4's.
Biggest Hit of the Match goes to Nicholas Pooran for the 103m hit.
Buzzmaker of the match award goes to Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
Smart Delivery of the Match goes to Imran Tahir for his dismissal of Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

10:57 PM IST | The wide is enough to get two more points for MI Emirates here in Sharjah! They win two out of two against Sharjah Warriors, who lose three on the bounce!

Earlier in the match, MI Emirates won the toss and elected to bowl first. The openers of Sharjah Warriors Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Tom Kohler-Cadmore gave the team a brisk start, adding 31 runs for the first wicket. Gurbaz (15 off 9) was the first one to be dismissed, thanks to a bumper from Trent Boult in the third over.

Kohler-Cadmore continued to attack the bowlers and completed his fifty. Kohler-Cadmore (55 off 41) added 56 runs for the second wicket alongside Dawid Malan (14 off 18). It was all going well for the hosts till the tenth over, scoring 87/1. Dwayne Bravo and Imran Tahir ran through the Warriors' middle order and reduced them to 119/7 in the next seven overs. In the end, Paul Walter (28* off 18) played a handy cameo to take the team to a respectable total of 146/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

For MI Emirates, DJ Bravo was the successful bowler with the figures of 4-0-25-3, while Imran Tahir finished with the figures of 4-0-17-2. Trent Boult and Zahoor Khan scalped a wicket each, while Fazalhaq Farooqi went wicketless.

Chasing 147 runs to win, the Emirates got off to a solid start with their openers Will Smeed and Muhammad Waseem adding 36 runs for the first wicket. In trying to smash Junaid Siddique for hattrick of boundaries, Smeed (29 off 17) was out with TKC taking a blinder of a catch at mid-wicket.

Then Andre Fletcher and Waseem added 29 runs for the second wicket before a miscommunication between the two cost the wicket for Fletcher (15 off 14) in the ninth over. Waseem (40 off 36) tried to stay around and steer the chase but ended up hitting a gift offered from Mohammad Nabi straight to the short fine-leg fielder. But before getting out in the 14th over, Waseem stitched 37 runs for the third wicket with Nicholas Pooran.

Then Kieron Pollard joined hands with Pooran as the duo smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground, adding 38 runs for the fourth wicket and taking the team close to the victory margin. In the 17th over bowled by Junaid Siddique, Pollard (19 off 14) clubbed a four and a six before getting bowled out.

Nikky P remained unbeaten on 39 off 21 deliveries, smashing one four and three maximums took the team home with 17 deliveries and six wickets in hand.

For the Warriors, Junaid Siddique picked a couple of wickets, while Mohammad Nabi was excellent in his three overs spell, giving away just 12 runs and picking a wicket with a maiden.

With this win, MI Emirates surge to the top of the points table, while Sharjah Warriors' quest for their first win continues.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations!
17.2 P Walter to N Pooran
WD Wide ball and that should be the game for the Emirates. Walter bends his back and bowls a bumper but way above Pooran's head and wide is signaled by the square leg umpire. With this, MI Emirates complete a convincing victory over the Sharjah Warriors.
103m six from Pooran!
17.1 P Walter to N Pooran
6 SIXXXX!!!!! Another one sails out of the ground. Walter bowls a back of the hand slower delivery on off, Pooran hangs back and pummels the pull over the mid wicket fence for a huge six. 103 m and straight out of the ground. This is the biggest of the competition so far.

There you go. Junaid Siddique has a celebration in front of Pollard and the latter obliges it as they hold each other with a friendly banter.
16.5 J Siddique to K Pollard
W BOWLED' EM!!!! Siddique cleans up Pollard here. Bowls it shorter in length and keeps a bit low, Pollard hangs back and swivels to pull it but misses it completely due to the lack of bounce and the ball crashes on the off stump. A bit of a celebration from Siddique and Pollard takes it lightly as both share a laugh. End of a very good cameo from the Emirates' skipper.
