That also wraps up our coverage of the 2nd T20I between India Women and Australia Women from Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Megh Mandaliya here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Arijit Kundu, and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Join us on 14th December, Wednesday for the 3rd T20I between these two sides. Goodbye for now!
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Captain): "Well, we just thought that we will keep backing ourselves. We scored 170 odd runs in the last game and thought that if someone could put some more runs in the game we could have got 200. We wanted to bat freely and without pressure today.

I am someone who always backed her [Richa Ghosh]. In her initial days, she was struggling and now she is powering the ball really well and improving. I think fielding is something where we are working on. We still haven't been the best without fielding. I feel our bowling was better than the previous game. There wasn't anything for the bowlers today."
Smriti Mandhana (Player of the match): “I think we enjoy chasing. Especially in the night game, where it's easier to know the target and plan accordingly. It was an amazing wicket to bat on and I was targeting a big score. Really happy to see such wickets where you can witness high run-chases.”
Player of the Match: Smriti Mandhana
Game changer of the Match: Richa Ghosh.
Alyssa Healy (Australia Captain): "Look, I think we probably missed with the ball tonight. What a game of cricket it was and especially for Women's cricket, with 40,000 people here. I think we missed a bit with the ball and gave them the chase. I thought India was all over us in the chase. At the end of the day, we can be very proud of our efforts. We fought really really hard. As I said, we hung in there and took it as far as we could. They played really well, what a super over it was."
Time for the Presentation ceremony.
10:28 PM IST | Megh: That wraps up the 2nd T20 International between India Women and Australia Women from Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy. Phew, what a spectacular display from both sides, it kept the spectators on the edge of their seats, and ultimately India equalized the five-match series 1-1 after the super over.💥 The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side is jumping in jubilation and what a performance it has been in front of a jam-packed squad.

In pursuit of 188 against a high-flying Aussie bunch, Indian openers started on an assertive note as both Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma assisted India to go past 50 in the powerplay. In a surface that was termed a batter’s paradise, both Mandhana and Verma were aggregating runs nearly at a run rate of 9.

While Mandhana elected to go a little more agricultural, the right-handed Verma was playing more vertical shots. The Australian bowlers, analogous to Indian bowlers, were untidy in their stints as they vouchsafed several looseners to the Indian openers.

When India was cruising away towards a victory, Alana King attained the first breakthrough for Australia as Verma departed for 34 (23), and that was soon followed by another quick wicket of Jemimah Rodrigues 4 (4).

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the next batter in, joined forces with Mandhana to construct a partnership of 61 runs before Kaur 21 (22) threw his wicket away at a crucial juncture. However, Mandhana kept matching on and brought up her 19th international half-century. The southpaw accumulated 79 (49), including 9 fours and 4 maximums before she edged one to her stumps.

Following Mandhana’s wicket, India kept losing wickets at regular intervals, and in the last over the women in blue required 14 runs. Megan Schutt delivered a breathtaking final over but it was Devika Vaidya’s last ball boundary that leveled the scores and lifted matters to a super over.

In the super over, India registered a mammoth total of 20 runs in 6 balls, courtesy of Mandhana’s two back-to-back boundaries and a six from Richa Ghosh in the first ball. Chasing 21, Renuka Singh dismissed Gardener in the third delivery and since then, the target was a little too much for Healy alone as Australia lost their first-ever super over in international cricket.

Earlier in the day, after being invited to bat first, Australia registered 187/1 on board. The left-right duo of Mooney and McGrath unsettled the Indian bowlers and cruised Australia past 180. While right-handed McGrath, who was dropped earlier by Richa orchestrated 70(51), including 10 fours and 1 maximum; southpaw Mooney chalked up her second consecutive fifty in this series and ended on 82 (54), including 13 fours.

A Maximum but it doesn't matter. India has leveled the series here at DY Patil Sports Academy and a loud roar from the crowd follows.

6 SIXXXXX!! A juicy full-toss from Thakur and Healy has harrumphed it across the line for a six. Not the best of the deliveries from Renuka but it doesn't matter as Australia Women falls short by 4 runs in the Super Over. India Women has sealed the victory in this scintillating humdinger 🔥 and Australia have lost their first T20 in this calendar year.
0.5 Thakur to A Healy
4 FOURRRR!! Full and wide outside the off this time and Alyssa latches a drive at it and the ball flows towards the deep point region. Jemimah at deep point region slips due to the dew in the field and the ball gushes to the fences.
THAT'S IT! Two legal deliveries and India will level the series here.
0.4 Thakur to T McGrath
1 Full and just outside the off this time. Tahlia fails to elevate it and plays it along the ground to long off for a single. 15 runs needed from 2 balls and India have done it if not any error.

That surely has curtained the fixture for Australia. What a spectacular catch from Radha Yadav, she redeems herself after two catch drops in the first T20I.
0.3 Thakur to A Gardner
W WICKETTTTTT!! The mid off was sent back and Radha Yadav at the edge of the longer circle makes the safe grasp this time. Full and outside the off from the bowler, enticing Gardner to pump hard at it. Gardner sits there to bang underneath the bounce and holes it straight down to Radha at long off. Excellent field positioning from the Indian skipper and 16 runs are needed for Australia to win from 3 balls.
A direct-hit from mid off would have sent Healy home here!
