That’s a wrap from our side as well. It was the Baby AB show today, hope you enjoyed our live coverage. MI Cape Town won the inaugural game of the season by 8 wickets. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and Scorer/Analyst Paras Yadav, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.✌✌
Rashid Khan (MI Cape Town Captain): "Yeah, thank god for the good result tonight. As a captain, I am over the moon after my first win as a captain in this tournament. Happy with the way boys have played. Thanks to Jofra and Curran for the way they performed in the powerplay. Yeah, it's the bowlers who win you games. They are precious. It is absolutely delightful to watch Archer at work. He has done a great job getting ready after months off the field. He has been a great asset to any team. Obviously, it is good for me to watch him bowl; more like a teammate than an opposition, haha. Brevis is a young player, and he is full of confidence. Happy to see him bat the way he did. Thanks to the crowd for coming here. It's great to get them back. Hopefully, they come here again and again. Thanks for the support."
Dewald Brevis (Player of the Match): "I want to thank the crowd for their support. It's wonderful to play in front of the home crowd.  I really loved hitting. I want to thank God as well because without him I wouldn't be alive. My bond with AB is quite precious. He has been essential to my growth and consistently provides me with sound counsel."
David Miller (Paarl Royals Captain): "It was a difficult night for us. Slight challenging surface when we batted. We couldn't get a good total on the board. They bowled really well. Though it(pitch) didn't change dramatically, it(pitch) did get easier in the second innings. We need to go back to the drawing room and ponder ourselves. We dropped a couple of catches. Obviously, it didn't help. Brevis is a superstar, isn't he? Obviously, Jofra is a world-class player. Eoin had a chat with me earlier and said that he will be back. It's a good comeback from him, and he will be a player to watch out for. We need to go back and discuss what happened in the game."
Post-match presentation ceremony now.
12:08 AM IST | Deepak: A swashbuckling inning of 70* off 41 balls from baby AB💥 (Dewald Brevis) has helped his side( MI Cape Town) to win the inaugural match of the inaugural season by 8 wickets and 27 balls to spare. Also, they will grab a bonus point.

Paarl Royals, who were invited to bat first, got off to a steady start but lost wickets at regular intervals, which prevented them from putting up a big total. Jos Buttler was the top scorer for them with a well-made 51 off 42 balls, but the rest of the Paarl batsmen struggled to make a meaningful contribution. Jofra Archer was the standout bowler for MI Cape Town, as he picked up 3 crucial wickets, giving away just 27 runs in his 4 overs. The Paarl Royals managed to post a total of 142 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs.

Chasing the 142-run target, MI Cape Town got off to a flying start, with openers Dewald Brevis and Ryan Rickelton taking the attack to the Paarl bowlers. The pair forged a partnership of 90 runs for the first wicket before Ryan Rickelton was dismissed for 42 off 33 balls by Ramon Simmonds. Sam Curran then joined Dewald Brevis in the middle and started striking the ball nicely, but he didn’t last for long and departed for 20 off 16 balls. Dewald Brevis, however, remained unfazed and kept on playing his natural game. He scored an unbeaten 70 off 41 balls and helped his side reach the target with 27 balls to spare.

Overall, the MI Cape Town played an excellent all-round game, with their bowlers restricting Paarl to a moderate total, and their batsmen chasing it down with relative ease. Codi Yusuf and Ramon Simmonds were the only bowlers to take one wicket each for the Paarl Royals.

With this win, MI Cape Town will be high on confidence going forward and will look to continue their winning streak in the tournament. On the other hand, Paarl Royals will have to go back to the drawing board and work on their weaknesses before their next match.

Stick around for the post-match presentations....
