That's it for today, this is Ishan signing off with my co-commentator Ayan along with our scorer/analyst Ashok. We will be back with all the live action, until next time Good Bye from our side.
R Samarth, Mangalore United Skipper and  Player of the Match: "Yes, I just backed my instincts and it stuck. I thought the bowlers kept simple and bowling in good areas and it's working well so far. I think we always thought of batting naturally and doing our things. That's what we are doing. It happens he is a good fielder. It's tough to say. It's a big tournament and its early stages. So can't say we are the favorites."
Time for the presentation with Charu Sharma.
23.15 IST: And the regular arrival of rain ensured that we don't go beyond and get a result here itself. Mangalore United have won that by 8 runs by VJD method as they were ahead of par total in 7.5 overs.

Mangalore had got the revised target of 114 runs in 14 overs. But just after 7.5 overs the uninvited rain Gods came back to interrupt and ensured we don't get further live action. After 7.5 overs, the chasing side was 62/2 before the rain interruption which means they will go down as the winner of this contest. Moreover, with this win, Mangalore becomes the table topper of the league with four points under their belt.

Earlier, Mysore Warriors after getting invited to bat first had scored 112/5 in 16.3 overs before the arrival of rain with the contribution from the wicketkeeper-batter Nihal Ullal (44 off 28) and Shivraj( 19* off 13 balls). In reply, after getting a revised total Mangalore skipper Ravikumar Samarth set the tone for them by giving them a cracking start. Before the final halt, he went unbeaten on 31 (off 20 balls), furthermore, Abhinav Manohar hit a couple of mighty sixes which perhaps helped them pass the par total. Unfortunately, that wasn't the ideal way to get a winner of the contest but that's what we got today.
The VJD par score for Mangalore United is 56-2 after 8 overs. They are currently ahead of that. Should the game be called off here, United will be declared winners on the night.
And with that, rain is back and the covers have been called for. It has started to rain heavily here.
7.5 S Hegde to A Manohar
1 Fuller on the stumps, played towards cover for a run. And it again started drizzling here.
The bowler is struggling to grip the ball. Hence, a pause in play here. The umpire is drying the seam of the ball.
7.4 S Hegde to A Manohar
6 SIX!!! And he breaks the shackles with this, Manohar couldn't hold it for too long and when he picks the delivery early he usually delivers in the stands. It was slower on the stumps, he was in a good position and hoicked that towards deep mid-wicket for a biggie.
7.3 S Hegde to R Samarth
1 Flighted on the stumps, played towards mid-wicket for another single. Good bowling he isn't giving any room to the batters.
7.2 S Hegde to A Manohar
1 Fuller on the stumps, played towards cover for a run.
7.1 S Hegde to R Samarth
1 Bowled that quicker and straight on the stumps, worked towards short mid-wicket for a run.

6.6 S Gopal to A Manohar
0 Fuller on the stumps, defended on the place. Dot to end the over.
6.5 S Gopal to A Manohar
6 SIX!!! It was given some extra air from Shreyas Gopal on the stump and Manohar sensed that very quickly and launched that down the ground for a maximum. It was premeditated but very effective.
6.4 S Gopal to R Samarth
1 Length ball on the stumps, played that towards mid-wicket.
6.3 S Gopal to R Samarth
0 Length ball outside off again cuts towards point for no run.
6.2 S Gopal to R Samarth
4 Four!! Another misfield. That was poor work at a backward point, the delivery was also poor but still, it could have been dot. It was bowled short outside off, Samarth cuts that towards backward point where the fielder couldn't able to collect it.
6.1 S Gopal to R Samarth
2 Quicker delivery on the stumps, played towards mid-wicket and the midfield in the deep has allowed them a couple.
