That's it from this match! It was another disappointing batting performance from West Indies and Bangladesh capitalized on it as they came on top with a series-deciding win. For now, this is your guy, AkshayaKrishna Polya (AKP), who is signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ovaise Shariff and Nikhil Kalla and scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma! We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's cheers..!
Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh Captain): "See, at the beginning of the series, I have told you that it is one format where we are doing well. In the dressing room, the feeling is good. We are happy with this win and we are ticking a lot of boxes as well. With the 2023 World Cup around the corner, we are heading in the right direction. See, I batted well today and in the Test series as well, I was in the zone but couldn't bat on for sessions. See, Nasum Ahmed is a talented bowler but with Shakib in the bank he doesn't get that many opportunities!"
Nicholas Pooran ( West Indies Captain )-: Tough day. We didn't show up as a batting group as we fell short by a lot of runs. We need to sit and chat about how we need to play ODI cricket. On a question about the conditions, he said, the conditions did not help us but whenever we get good batting tracks we need to plan how to bat better in the ODI games. When asked about the par score, It's difficult to assume the par score as the wicket gets better as the day progresses to bat on and after losing the toss, it was challenging for the batters to bat first up. We need to find different ways to score and also we need to bat properly to win games we have to put runs on the board and need to find a way to play cricket in this format ( ODI ) better. We need to stick together and hopefully, we can get better.

Nasum Ahmed (Player of the Match): "Alhamdulillah!! Was very excited about the opportunity. I was just focussing on putting the ball in the right areas and got the results. It's just a signal to say 'A new tiger is coming' - (when asked about his celebration)."
Akshaya: Bangladesh have beaten West Indies by nine wickets with more than 29 overs remaining!

After performing well below par in the longest and shortest formats, Bangladesh came hard at the West Indies and ruthlessly thrashed them in this ODI series with a game to go! They have taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match ODI series.

This was an even more poor performance with the bat for the hosts as they didn’t even get closer to 150, which they at least did in the first ODI.

Earlier, Bangladesh at toss decided to make first use of the pitch with the ball. And they were right about it as the pitch in Guyana was very slow and sluggish! Apart from a few 20-plus partnerships, West Indies really didn’t have any control in the game. They fell like a pack of cards or should I say they played careless shots, especially against spinners on a pitch which was not a good one either.

The scorecard would have been even worse for the Windies if not for Keemo Paul who remained unbeaten on 25 off 24 balls, taking the team over the 100-run mark. Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope gave the team a steady start (27 in 10.3 overs) but once the former got out the procession started. Sadly it didn't stop as they were skittled out for just 108 in 35 overs.

For the most part of Bangladesh's bowling innings, they attacked the hosts with spinners. And were successful in running through them as well. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nasum Ahmed didn’t let the batter to even take a breather!

Mehidy’s impressive spell read 8-1-29-4 while his partner’s figures were quite spectacular as he finished his quota well within the 30 overs. Nasum pickles three wickets and gave away just 19 runs in his ten overs, including four maiden overs! The other spinner Mossadek Hossain and surprisingly the pacer Shoriful Islam made their appearance in the wickets column once.

Tamim Iqbal and Najmul Hossain Shanto started the chase cautiously and slowly stepped on the accelerator. Though it was a walk in the park, the visitors had to deal with some of the misbehaving balls.

Nicholas Pooran, after a poor day with the bat, made poor decisions of reviewing a couple of umpire’s decisions which were more off from desperations! Finally, they broke the opening stand, thanks to Shanto (20 off 36) for throwing his wicket away in the bowling off Gudakesh Motie.

After the 48-run opening stand for the first wicket, Tamim (50* off 62) added an unbeaten 64 off 51 for the second wicket alongside Litton Das (32* off 27)! Tamim finished the game with a boundary and also completed his 53rd ODI fifty in the process!

20.4 G Motie to T Iqbal
4 FOURR!!! Flat and on the stumps, Iqbal drives it past the bowler and hits the winning shot!! He finishes it off in style.. Bangladesh have won the match by 9 wickets!!
Gudakesh Motie has been hit on his fingers! He tried to stop the tracer bullet throw from the short mid wicket fielder. But that has hit on his left hand! A physio is checking on him and magic spray is on work here.
20.3 G Motie to T Iqbal
0 Quicker through the air, on the stumps, prods forward and blocks it.
20.2 G Motie to T Iqbal
0 Slightly tossed up, on the stumps, Iqbal pushes it with soft hands. Still can't get the run.
20.1 G Motie to T Iqbal
0 Full and quick, on the leg stump, Iqbal flicks it away but straight to the short mid wicket fielder who dives and stops this one.
