That's a wrap to this game with the hosts up 2-1 in this 5-match series. Join us for the fourth ODI on Tuesday where it will be a must-win game for the visitors of Australia to keep the series alive as the hosts aim to seal it there. Do join us for all other cricketing action across the globe in our network.

For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Saipavan Janaki, Tugral Azmi (first innings), and Arya Sekhar Chakraborty (first innings), and our scorer/analyst Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Until next time we meet again, I bid you good night. Stay safe, happy, and cool. TA-TA! and ADIOS!
Dasun Shanaka Sri Lanka winning Captain: "Absolutely. a record run-chase. A brilliant batting performance from Pathum and Kusal. Hope they carry on the momentum. I think the tempo was great. Happy to see that. There was dew and that helped us. We didn't expect that and it helped us in the end. Yes, very lucky with that. Yes, not often that we beat them twice in a row since 1992 and we hope to carry it with his form. I think we have got the right combination to challenge the other teams. Nice balance. I also want to thank the crowds for coming and supporting us."
Aaron Finch Australia Losing Captain: "There was a bit of dew. It got better. It wasn't stopping. Credit to Sri Lanka they were clinical. Pathum and Kusal were brilliant in the end. You can say so looking back, it was stopping in the day, but got better as we went along. A learning curve for our bowlers and hope they learn from it. We will fight hard for sure."
Pathum Nissanka (Player of the Match): "Extremely pleased with the way I batted. It was a great challenge in this heat and humidity. The surface was a tad slow, but I enjoyed batting on it."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
A brilliant chase from Sri Lanka as they aced the chase from start to finish as they paced their innings to perfection to win by 6 wickets with 9 balls to spare. This is the highest chase at the Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, and by the Sri Lankans against the Australians. Delightful scenes here in Colombo. The stars of the show are Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis.

Chasing a stiff target of 292 for the win, the Lankans got off to a good start as Dickwella was the initial aggressor with his 25 off 26 balls in the 42-run opening stand. Once Dickwella fell for 25 to Maxwell, it was the Pathum Nissanka-Kusal Mendis show as they stitched an unbroken partnership of 170 runs before Mendis retired hurt on 87 off 85 balls. Nissanka carried on to make 137 off 147 balls. Dhananjaya de Silva chipped in with 25 off 17 balls to keep up the momentum going. There was a late flurry of wickets from Jhye Richardson in the end, but it was too late in the contest. Charith Asalanka remained unbeaten on 13 in the end to complete the formalities.

Nothing much to talk about Australia's bowling. A couple of wickets for Jhye Richardson and a wicket apiece for Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell, but nothing to ride home about. It was a one-dimensional attack and it was rendered ineffective. The spinners were ineffective, to say the least, and that was the difference in the end. Kuhnemann, Green, and Maxwell all went for runs, to say the least, and didn't have control as the Lankans successfully get the job done to lead 2-1 in the series.

Earlier in the game, it was Aaron Finch who won the toss and elected to bat first on a glorious day in Colombo on a good pitch. Aaron Finch and David Warner walked out to open the innings, but the Aussies lost David Warner for 9 when the score was 14 runs. The captain Aaron Finch top-scored with 62 while Mitchell Marsh struggled with his 10 off 23 balls. Marnus and Finch had a decent partnership before Marnus fell for 29 and Finch fell thereafter for 62. They stuttered a bit but were revived by Alex Carey 49 off 52 balls, and Travis Head who was unbeaten on 70 off 65 balls in the end.  Glenn Maxwell chipped in with 33 off 18 balls while Cameron Green chipped in with an unbeaten 15 off 12 balls as the Aussies got 98 off the last 60 balls to get to 291-6 in 50 overs.

From Sri Lanka’s point of view, Dushmantha Chameera bowled only 8 overs for 49 runs as he picked up a wicket under his name. Maheesh Theekshana was economical in his 10 overs for 37 runs where he was hit for only one boundary in his spell. Chamika Karunaratne went for 46 runs in 5 overs as last match’s Player of the Match was taken to the cleaners. Wellalage went for 21 in his final over to end a very good spell for him of 10 overs 1-56. Jeffrey Vandersay was the pick of the bowlers with his 10 overs 3-49. Dhananjaya de Silva chipped in with 6 overs 1 for 35 and Dasun Shanaka was clobbered for 10 runs in his only over. But it didn't matter as the Lankan bowlers managed to get the job done with the bat and win by 6 wickets.

So, Sri Lanka wins by 6 wickets with 9 balls to spare to take a 2-1 lead in the 5-match series. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony coming your way soon.

48.3 J Hazlewood to C Asalanka
1 A low full toss here, Asalanka tucks it off his hips to the midwicket region for a single to get the win and take a 2-1 lead in the series. This is the highest successful chase here at the Premadasa Stadium and by the Lankans. A brilliant chase by Sri Lanka.
48.2 J Hazlewood to C Asalanka
6 SIX! Fuller length and in the slot, Asalanka under extreme pressure takes it on and deposits it over cow corner for a huge six. Scores are level now as Sri Lanka is almost there.
48.1 J Hazlewood to C Asalanka
0 Hazlewood will bowl the penultimate over. Gets in a fuller-length yorker, Asalanka defends and digs it out back to the bowler.
