Ishan: Both Northern Knights and Munster Reds were playing their opening game but eventually Reds were better off than Knights. After losing the toss and getting invited to bat first, openers Paul Stirling and Ruhan Pretorius had given a solid start to Knights. However, they lost the bearing after the wicket of Sterling, Plenty of batters in the middle-order got the starts but they haven’t capitalized on that. Apart from Pretorius, no other batter scored a half-century for Knights, once it looked like they won't even cross 220 but some late fireworks from Ross Adair have helped them post the challenging yet below-par score of 248. For Reds, Tyrone Kane, Curtis Campher, Michael Frost and Fionn Hand each of them scalped two wickets.
Chasing down the total, Reds got a shaky start as the opener Murray Commins has gone for a duck but responsible batting from the skipper Peter Moor and Tyrone Kane steadied the ship for them. Once it seems like it will be an easy chase they lost the way again and they were 100/5 at once. But then Ford came to the rescue and scored an unbeaten 71 off 71 balls to help them over the line. Contributions from both Delany's ( Gareth and David) along with Hand ensured that they win their first encounter of the tournament with 12 balls to spare.
