Milestone
That brings us to the end of the coverage of this much-anticipated encounter between the arch-rivals India women and Pakistan women. It was team India who take the honors at the end of the match. Hope you have enjoyed all the action here at our network. Do join us for all the upcoming matches from all around the globe. For now, this is me Ajay Ahire signing it off along with my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit with our scorer Manish Bishnoi. Until then stay safe and stay cool...
Smriti Mandhana finishes the things off in style as she smokes that one towards the deep midwicket. India beat their arch-rivals Pakistan by 8 wickets and they pick up an important win here in terms of qualification scenario. And with this win, India moves to the top of the points table of group A. They outplayed their opposition in all three departments. Smriti Mandhana was clinical throughout her stay as she tonk the ball all over the park and took her team over the winning line in quick time. It was a rain-hit game but thankfully once it stopped the game went on without any halt and then team India was just exceptional on the field.

Chasing a small target of 100 runs on a good batting track. As expected India started off really well as both the openers Smriti and Shafali absolutely hammered the Pakistani bowlers in the powerplay. Smriti was the aggressor in that partnership as she took on the bowlers upfront. Shafali after getting her eye in took the bowlers on for cleaners. They put on a 61 runs partnership inside the six overs. Shafali was the first one to depart as she goes chasing the wide outside off stump delivery and ended up edging that one to the keeper off the bowling of Hassan. After that Sabbhineni Meghana came out to bat at number 3. But on the other end, Smriti continued her stroke-making and notched up her 15 T20I half-century in just 32 balls.

After settling in Meghana struck a couple of fours and she also looked in control of her game but eventually while trying to go for the big swipe she misses it in the woods as Omaima gets that one to spin back in towards the batter. With the ball, no one looked threatening as batters played to the merit of the ball and scored the runs freely. Hassan and Omaimah Sohail were the only ones who got the breakthrough but the rest of them went wicketless.

In the first innings, it was total Indian bowlers and more of the fielders who did really well and restricted the opposition to the score of 99 in their 18 overs. Pakistan batters except Bismah and Muneeba failed to make a mark in the middle. The running between the wickets was absolutely poor as they lost a couple of wickets because of running out. For India, with the ball both the spinners, Sneh Rana and Radha Yadav were exceptional as they picked up a couple of wickets and bowled on a good line and lengths.

11.4 F Sana to S Mandhana
4 And Smriti Mandhana finishes off with a boundary! India win by eight wickets and Pakistan are out of the semi finals race with 2 losses in 2 games. Length delivery on the fifth stump line. Easy pickings for the southpaw who gets down on a knee and smashes this across the line towards cow corner! Good attempt from deep midwicket but she fails to keep the ball away from the boundary cushions! First win for India in the tournament, they finally get it right this time round!
