That is all we have from the commentary box for the doubleheader Saturday. Do join us again tomorrow at 2:30 PM for a doubleheader Sunday. Till then it's good night and goodbye from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentators Ayan Chatterjee, Akshaya Krishna Polya along with our scorer/ statistician Paras Yadav.
Avesh Khan, Man of the Match- I wanted to get wickets. I thought even if I go for a six to a hard-length delivery I will still keep bowling that length. Russell's wicket was the most important for me as he could have single-handedly taken the game away from us. I have always tried t bowl one ball at a time. My dad always motivates me. All the coaches here as well. I am playing as a main boweler and it's my role to give wickets and win games for the team. We have been bowling second for the last four matches. We ask the batters as well. Whatever we speak in the team meeting, we try to execute in the matches.
KL Rahul, LSG skipper- Yes If you look at it. Winning by 75 runs does suggest we have dominated most of the game. Started really well with the bat expe for the runout. It was a tricky wicket. After the first over, Quinney had to get something around 150-160. I was confident with our bowlers but the way they batted was exceptional. Crucial knocks from Krunal and Badoni. Stoinis's two-three sixes helped us quite a bit in the bit. Couldn't have asked for more. I trust them a great deal. They have been putting in good performances. They are adapting to the conditions pretty well. they have been put under pressure. they have stuck to their strengths and have been brave. Keep trusting that what the best ball on that surface. Dre Russ was going hot. It is scary at times. How they went about the business was great. This gives us huge confidence. I still can't think of any other game like a complete performance. We aren't chasing that. We have found ways to stay in the game. There is a good vibe around everyone which is very important. We are getting wins which is expected from us.
Time for the Post-match presentation ceremony with Murali Kartik.

Arya- The target of 177 runs could have been a tricky one for the Kolkata Knight Riders. It was a chase where KKR would have been comfortable chasing that down. However, they were aware of the fact that LSG bowlers have bowled brilliantly in the powerplay and they did continue their resurgence. Baba Aparajith was dismissed in the very first over while Mohsin Khan was unplayable in his first over. Shreyas Iyer kept missing one after the other during that sensational spell.

The pressure finally brought about the downfall of KKR’s skipper as Dushmantha Chameera bounced him out with a well-directed short delivery. KKR lost one more in the powerplay when Aaron Finch top-edged one short delivery from Jason Holder straight down the throat of Quinton de Kock. Nitish Rana couldn’t bid his time in the crease either getting castled by a yorker from Avesh Khan.

From there on, only one man could take KKR beyond the finishing line and that was none other than Andre Russell. He ignited a few hopes as he started smoking sixes after sixes and it all came with so much ease. He literally toyed with the likes of Holder and Chameera while Bishnoi was also clobbered for the longest six of the match. Till he was there, KKR was in the chase but once he was dismissed by Avesh Khan it was a road to far for them.

Eventually, KKR lost three back to back wickets in the 15th over. While Holder bagged the wickets of Sunil Narine and Tim Southee, Harshit Rana was run-out as they tried to steal one extra run. Eventually, they went down by 75 runs. Russell was the top scorer for KKR with a score of 45 runs of just 19 deliveries. For LSG, Avesh Khan and Jason Holder were the pick of the bowlers bagging three wickets each.

Earlier in the day it was KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer who won the toss and put LSG in. They had the worst start as KL Rahul was run out without facing a delivery. That was a big moment in the game but from there on it was Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda who settled in and took the KKR bowlers apart especially in the powerplay. Both the batters started off briskly smashing some wonderful blows. QDK timed the ball to perfection before perishing at the hands of Sunil Narine but not before he got his side off to a great start after running out his skipper.

Hooda also looked in great shape and repaid the faith shown in him by the LSG management by batting him at No 3. He made full use of the powerplay and shared a 71 runs stand with QDK. Himanshu Rana went for a few runs which forced Shreyas Iyer to introduce Andre Russell who bagged two wickets. Just when KKR looked like putting a check to the LSG run-flow, it was a 30 runs over of Shivam Mavi which gave LSG the much-needed impetus required to get close to the 180 mark.

Jason Holder: "I am extremely happy. It was a team work and our bowlers done well to get them out quickly. The pitch was helping for the pace off deliveries and there were some stickiness in the pitch. We bowled well, especially our pacers have done a great job. Credit must be given to the bowlers. I thought we held our nerve with the bat to post a 170+ total. The guys said it is not easy and a lot of the guys (bowlers) went into the wicket which paid out well and was the right thing to do. We complement each other well and it is not an individual or a couple of individuals who have stood out for the season, I think in each game an individual keeps putting their hand up. We have all bought into what KL is pushing down to us."
Shreyas Iyer: "They outplayed us in all departments. We leaked a lot of runs in the powerplay and then we came in the middle, but at the death, we leaked the runs. It was difficult to assess the wicket. That's why we chose bowling first. We thought 150 was a good score to chase. But we gave away runs after the first wicket and that cost us the game. Baz and I always discuss chasing. It's best to lose tosses. But in the end, we have not executed our game plan. We have done well in the middle overs, but our powerplay and death overs were poor. We need to improve in those areas in our remaining three games."
Arya- What a capitulation it was from the Kolkata Knight Riders as they got skittled out for a mere 101 runs, resulting in a comprehensive 75 runs victory for the Lucknow Super Giants. Barring a sensational knock from Andre Russell, LSG outplayed KKR in all three departments of the game and they had to play catch up all through the run-chase especially after losing 4 wickets with less than 25 runs on the board. Eventually the LSG bowlers, especially the pacers did their job and made sure KKR had no chance whatsoever after the dismissal of Andre Russell.
A run-out check here. Replays are in and he is short of the ground. That's it from the game. KKR has been bowled out for 101 here.
14.3 J Holder to H Rana
2+W This is hara-kiri from the KKR batters. Could this be a classic comedy of errors? Yes the batsman is short of the crease and that brings us to the end of the encounter. What a capitualtion. Harshit Rana digs out the length delivery down the mid-on region. Sloppy work by Ayush Badoni as he allows to go under him. Chases it all the way through. Rana and Mavi thought there was three runs on offer. Takes on Badoni's arms and Himanshu Rana falls just short of the crease as Holder dislodges the stumps just in time.
14.2 J Holder to T Southee
W Two in two for Jason Holder and Tim Southee bites the dust on this occasion. They have found the fielders all evening today. Holder will be on a hat-trick now. A slower delivery on the surface and Southee was way too early into the attempted pull. No timing whatsoever and it carries all the way to Avesh Khan at deep square leg. He dives forward and completes a great catch.

14.1 J Holder to S Narine
W It's Sunil Narine's time to go back to the pavilion. Wickets are tumbling for the Kolkata Knight Riders and it seems just a matter of time before LSG completes the formalities. The final nail in the coffin. A fuller-length delivery from Holder on this occasion. Middle-stump line, Narine makes some room and tries to carve it away over covers. Gets the outside half of the bat and it lobs up in the air. Krunal Pandya times the jump to perfection and holds onto it comfortably.
