That brings us to the end of our coverage for today's encounter. Till the next time, its good-bye and good-night from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentators Akshay Bhide and Ajay Ahire along with our scorer Paras Yadav
Kagiso Rabada( Man of the match): "Yes really happy, finally we got the win after being inconsistent in this tournament. We bowled first again as we were kept on doing in this season. At the end of the day, you need the bowlers to bowl well and I'm happy that the bowlers did their job. At the end of the day, you can't be too greedy and You need to stick to the basics which I tried to do. Arsh has a good temperament and he works really hard. He is really good at executing his plans. Every now and then he keeps on asking the questions and he keeps involved in the game. As a bowler, you need to be ready to bowl at any phase so you need to the perfect at bowling at any stage of the game."
Mayank Agarwal | Punjab Kings Skipper: "We are trying to get the best out of Jonny. He has opened the batting before and I said I'll bat at four. I can anchor the innings coming in the middle order. The plan was to allow Shiki to bat through. The thought was to chase down the total quickly and boost our net run rate. So we gave the freedom to Livingstone to do his thing. I think we bowled exceedingly well. We picked up wickets in the powerplay and restricted them to a low total."
Shikhar Dhawan wins the Rup Pay on the Go 4s of the Match Award for hitting 8 fours.
Alzarri Joseph wins the Swiggy Instamart Fastest Delivery of the Match Award for clocking 147.2 kph.
Shikhar Dhawan is also the Upstox Most Valuable Asset of the Match.
Shikhar Dhawan is the Cred Powerplayer of the Match for scoring 30 runs in 23 deliveries in the powerplay.
Liam Livingstone wins the Unacademy Let's Crack it Sixes Award for smoking three sixes.
Kagiso Rabada is the Dream11 Game Changer of the Match for scoring 120 fantasy points.
Liam Livingstone is the Punch Super Striker of the Match.
Time for the Post-match presentation ceremony with Murali Kartik.
Hardik Pandya | Gujarat Titans Skipper: "We were not even close to the par total. 170 would have been an ideal score. But we kept losing wickets regularly. We back our decision to bat first. We need to come out of our comfort zones. In the big games, if we have to bat first, we have to adapt to the conditions and post a big total on the board. It was an exercise we wanted to try. We knew the new ball would swing but when we lost wickets regularly and we couldn’t come back in the game. To be honest, whenever we were winning, the talk was always about getting better. We don’t have much time and we will take the positives and regroup and try to make a comeback."

Arya- At the start of the run-chase, Punjab Kings would have definitely taken the target of 144 runs and the Gujarat Titans needed early wickets to put any sort of pressure under the Punjab Kings batters. Mayank Agarwal who has been struggling for runs didn’t come out to bat in his usual opening position. Instead, it was Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan who began proceedings and couldn’t quite get the start Punjab would have liked. Mohammed Shami bagged the wicket of Bairstow in his 2nd over to reduce Punjab to 10/1. They needed to rebuild and it was provided by the two stylish left-handers Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa.

Both the batters played very sensibly and ensured that there were no hiccups in the middle overs. They stroke the ball very well and never really allowed the required rate to creep up at any stage. They were well in control of the chase and the GT bowlers had no ideas in front of batsmanship of the highest order from the two. They didn’t take undue risks but never really backed away from going after the bowlers.

The duo shared an 87 runs partnership to lay the platform for an easy run-chase in the end. Rajapaksa was eventually dismissed by Lockie Ferguson but not before he had brought his side to the threshold of victory. His innings of 40 came in 28 deliveries and was studded with 8 fours and a couple of sixes. The ball angled into the left-hander and he missed the attempted whip of his legs.

Liam Livingstone was sent above Mayank Agarwal to ensure that Punja Kings finished it off well and early. With 27 runs required of 30 deliveries, Livingstone decided to launch a brutal assault on Mohammed Shami as he smoked him for three consecutive, one of which was the biggest in the tournament (117 metres). That almost went out of the stadium. It was one of the biggest sixes I have ever seen in my life. He finished off the match with a boundary down the third man region.

Earlier in the day it was GT skipper Hardik Pandya who won the toss and opted to bat which hasn't been the case with other captains. He wanted to test his team out of their comfort zone. Wriddhiman Saha and Shubhman Gill got them off to a good start with a few cracking shots. However Gill was dismissed early as he went for a non-existent run and fell well short of the crease. Wriddhiman Saha played some delightful shots to begin with but eventually perished of the bowling of Kagiso Rabada as he kept bowling outside off.

Rishi Dhawan then removed GT skipper Hardik Pandya early just at the end of the powerplay. That was a massive blow as Hardik is the leading run-getter for GT in this tournament. Sai Sudharsan had a difficult time to begin with but gradually settled down and it was only due to his contribution of 65 runs in 50 deliveries which got their side over the 140 mark. All the other batters couldn't quite get going as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. For Punjab Kings, it was Kagiso Rabada who was the most successful bowler finishing with figures of 4/33.

What a thumping win from the Punjab Kings over the table-toppers Gujarat Titans. After restricting the Titans to 143 in their 20 overs, the batters put a masterclass to chase down the total with four overs to spare. With this win, they move to 10 points and will be riding with confidence. The Titans need to regroup quickly.

15.6 M Shami to L Livingstone
4 And that is the end of the game. Punjab Kings have totally dominated the table toppers in today's encounter. A length delivery from Shami this time around off. Livingstone again swings across the line with all his might. Didn't get the middle of the bat there but he will take that. The top edge flies over the short third man fielder. Falls just short of the fence and a boundary it is.
15.5 M Shami to L Livingstone
2 Shami bowls a full one almost in the blockhole and Livingstone digs that out down the midwicket area and calls for a couple straightaway.
Ajay: Indeed Akshay. I think he will finish the match in the next 2 balls.
15.4 M Shami to L Livingstone
4 Livingstone has made a mockery of Mohammed Shami here and has helped their side immensely in the net run rate. Length delivery from Shami and Livingstone heaves it away down the leg side. Doesn't get that too well but wide of the square leg fielder and once it passes the infield it was always going to be a boundary.
