That brings us to the end of our coverage. Do join us tomorrow for a doubleheader Saturday. Till then it's ta-ta and good-night from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my co-commentator Akshaya Krishna Polya along with our scorer Paras Yadav
Krunal Pandya | Man of the Match: "Yeah throughout the tournament I have been bowling well. Rahul Sanghvi has been a big big help. I have been working in 7-8 months with my bowling. I had given a thought that I need to develop my skills. The results everyone can see but I have worked hard for last 7-8 months. Lot of times when you are playing shorter formats you don't realize a lot of things. I have been trying to increase my height with my release and some things on my grip. I took Rahul Sanghvi's help and it has worked. Batting is slightly close to my heart. I haven't been contributing much with the bat but is a long tournament and going forward I will look to contribute with the bat."
KL Rahul | Lucknow Super Giants Skipper: "I was disappointed with the score. I was fuming after the first innings. That was stupid cricket with the bat. The experienced guys in the team. It does happen and we spoke about that in the mid-innings break. A couple of bad shots, the run-out didn't help. I was unhappy with the middle phase. But the crucial 20 30 runs by the bowlers and they executed their plans. to perfection with the ball. But the batting unit, we need to get back and be better. At Halftime when Quinney and Deepak was still batting, we felt that they batted brilliantly. They paced it really well and after the timeout, they hit boundaries and rotated the strike. It was a tricky pitch to bat on. We could have gone 10-15 runs extra had the batter stayed there but we lost 4-5 wickets in a heap. But we bowled really well. Krunal has been brilliant throughout the tournament. He has always been an economical bowler. He has worked really hard and he is getting us the crucial wickets. Bowling economically is also important but he has also been taking wickets. Bishnoi keeps taking those crucial wickets. Sometimes we don't mind if he goes for sixes if he is tossing it up. The fast bowlers have been exceptional. The way they have bowled in the powerplays has given us a lot of confidence. We need to be a bit smarter in reading the game. We could have not played so many shots and found a way to build the partnerships in the middle. That is something we need to go back and work. It's not a technical change. Just the mindset of the batsmen. We have been good in the field and with the ball. We have to be switched on and if we aren't that can hit you. We need to keep improving on what we can do better."

Time for the post-match presentation ceremony with Deep Dasgupta.
Akshaya- Earlier, Punjab Kings (PBKS) won the toss and opted to field first. This decision proved gold when Kagiso Rabada bowled a terrific delivery which squared up KL Rahul (6 off 11) and he edged one to the keeper. But Quinton de Kock and new number three Deepak Hooda managed to survive on this sticky wicket. At the time of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) innings this looked like a struggle but at the end of the match this turned out to be gold. de Kock and Hooda stitched together an 85-run stand for the second wicket.

De Kock (46 off 37) fell short of his well-deserved half-century by four runs. He too edged one to Jitesh Sharma behind the stumps as he tried to cut Sandeep Sharma. But after this wicket LSG didn’t really get going and lost wickets at clusters. Deepak Hooda scored 34 off 28. Krunal Pandya (7 off 7), Marcus Stoinis (1 off 4), Ayush Badoni (4 off 4), and Jason Holder (11 off 8) fell cheaply in trying to up the ante.

Losing 46/7 in the last seven odd overs would have made LSG post a few less runs than they had liked at the half-way. But a late surge from the bowlers helped LSG to get past the 150-run mark. Dushmantha Chameera (17 off 10) and Mohsin Khan (13*off 6) struck some lusty blows in the last couple of overs to post 153/8 in their allotted 20 overs mark.

For PBKS, it was the mighty South African pacer, Kagiso Rabada who bowled exceptionally well. His figures read 4-0-38-4. Apart from him, it was Rahul Chahar who stopped the path of the LSG batters as he took a couple of wickets. Sandeep Sharma was economical and had a wicket to show for it.

Arya- Lucknow Super Giants went into the second innings a lot more confident after the little flourish towards the end of the innings by Mohsin Khan and Dushmantha Chameera. They gained confidence from their performance with the bat and proved to be the wreckers in chief for the LSG. Mayank Agarwal got off to a good start striking some blistering blows but his partner at the other end, Shikhar Dhawan had a torrid time before departing on 5 of as many as 15 deliveries.

That halted their momentum in the powerplay but Mayank Agarwal tried to keep the scoring rate up as he smashed some good blows. Mayank was the first man dismissed followed by Shikhar Dhawan but with the batting line-up Punjab, they were still the firm favourites to chase that down. Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow build a good partnership in the middle which settled the nerves for Punjab.

However, there was a cluster of wickets which again put Punjab on the backfoot. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers as he bowled with guile and deception and finished with figures of 2/11 in his 4 overs spell. He dried out the boundaries in the middle overs which amounted to the pressure and Punjab Kings couldn’t really kick on.

Rishi Dhawan was the next man in at the fall of Bairstow wicket and he took as many as 8 deliveries to get off the mark. The required rate was still a manageable one but with several play and misses it got to a situation which became almost impossible. With 31 required of the final over, Rishi Dhawan finally redeemed himself smashing a six and a four in the first two deliveries but Avesh Khan was good enough to keep Dhawan in check in the next four deliveries.

Quinton de Kock: "To be honest I am surprised after this win. We didn't think at the halfway about winning this. Posted a few less than we thought but our bowlers done well to defend it. Mohsin did an excellent job with the ball but to be honest it was not his job. It should have been us the batters who should have batted a bit better. But congratulations to him. We are taking it game by game. Not thinking too much ahead of ourselves for now. Our approach is to go by game  by game and getting important points."
Mayank Agarwal | Punjab Kings Skipper: "I think we just losing wickets. We had batters to chase it but we kept losing them. We played lose shots and most of them were soft dismissals. We should have chased it. I think the new ball was crucial. After the new ball overs it became a tad easy for the batting but we didn't capitalise. Odd balls were stopping and turning a bit. Apart from those it was good to bat. Our bowling has been exceedingly well so far. I think KG was magnificent. Rahul Chahar too got among the wickets. Arshdeep is always good. We need to do better in the coming games."
Arya- A comprehensive victory for the Lucknow Super Giants in the game by 20 runs. They bossed the conditions with the ball and in the end, the target of 154 was way too much for the Punjab Kings. They have defended the target well on the back of some good bowling efforts by Dushmantha Chameera and Mohsin Khan. In the end, LSG continue their brilliant run in the tournament bagging their 6th victory.

0 Again that length delivery on off and middle has been smacked straight to long-on and the single has been refused yet again.
