That brings us to the end of our coverage for the afternoon game. The clash between RCB and SRH has already started and if you are an RCB fan, please take a deep sigh before tuning into our coverage. This is Arya Sekhar Chakraborty signing off on the behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and our scorer/ statistician Paras Yadav.
Lockie Ferguson- Just gathering my thoughts after the win. Hell of an over from AJ after Russell did his thing. (About that catch) Honestly it's a bit of a blur. I thought he hit it straight up and it got big on me and did well to adjust. When someone like Dre Russ is in the middle anything can happen, the heart is still racing. The wicket was challenging to bat. The score that we got was a hiccup and Dre bowled a good last over. It's nice to look around the change room and look at the quality and experience of the bowlers.
Shreyas Iyer, KKR skipper- The way we started in the powerplay while chasing and even with the ball. We shouldn't have conceded that much in these conditions. I think 160-165 was a decent score and we did well to keep them below that. In this format, all matches that are close we need to win those and only then we can climb up the ladder. Three out of our last four were very close matches. The energy and vibe is high before the game and it is disappointing that we are unable to convert it.

Arya: It was always going to be a tricky run-chase for the Kolkata Knight Riders, especially on a sticky surface like this and there start was not the one they would have hoped for. New opening duo Sam Billings and Sunil Narine started off proceedings. KKR lost both openers very early which derailed their progress in the powerplay. It was an exceptional piece of fast bowling by the pace trio of Shami, Yash Dayal and Lockie Ferguson which put KKR on the backfoot right from the word go.

Nitish Rana also went early as KKR was reduced to 23/3 and they needed to play catch up for the rest of the run-chase. Shreyas Iyer played a few attacking shots and tried to get going. Rinku Singh joined him at the other end but the skipper soon fell to Yash Dayal as that delivery angled away from the right-hander and took a feather to the keeper. It was some great bowling upfront but Rinku Singh provided some momentum to KKR’s innings as he struck some impressive shots and got going.

From 34/4, Venkatesh Iyer joined Rinku Singh in the middle and tried to resurrect the run chase. They built a partnership of 35 runs and looked in good touch. However, Venkatesh Iyer lacked clarity in his game and couldn't quite shine in the new role for his franchise. The duo couldn’t quite carry on the good work as both gave away their wickets in crucial junctures of the match. Rashid Khan bowled superbly and bagged the wickets of Venkatesh Iyer and Shivam Mavi towards the back end to stall their progress.

Till the time, Andre Russell was there KKR knew that they are still in the game. Russell smashed some lusty blows of Yash Dayal to get going but got away one when he ended up pulling a short delivery from Dayal straight to the deep fine leg fielder. However, Dayal overstepped and Russel got a life. He kept them in the game and with 18 required of the last over, he smoked a straight six to bring the equation down to 12 of 5 deliveries. Joseph bowled a good short delivery to dismiss Russell and that was a too tall a task from thereon. Eventually, GT won by 8 runs.

Arya- What an eventful final over. Andre Russell threatened to take the game away from Gujarat Titans after striking a lusty blow in the first delivery of the final over. However, Alzarri Joseph held his nerves and bowled a few good short deliveries and. in the end, GT won by 8 runs to go to the top of the points table with six wins in seven games.

19.6 A Joseph to U Yadav
0 Fuller-length delivery just outside off to end the over. Umesh Yadav drills this down the long-off region. Yet another defeat for KKR. Their 4th loss on a trot.
Akshay: What a ball from Joseph. Steams in and bowls a sharp bouncer as Yadav is beaten by the pace. 9 required from one ball now.
19.5 A Joseph to U Yadav
0 A brilliant short delivery from Joseph and Umesh Yadav goes for the pull but it got big on him and he doesn't make any contact.
Akshay: 9 required from the last two balls now. Are we in for a Super Over?
19.4 A Joseph to U Yadav
2 Again a brilliant piece of work by Lockie Ferguson. On a length this time from Joseph. Umesh Yadav swings across the line and gets a top edge over the keeper's head and Umesh Yadav has enough time to take a couple.
19.3 A Joseph to T Southee
1 Fuller-length delivery this time on the stumps and that has been swung away down the long-on region for a single.

Akshay: That's a fantastic catch by Ferguson. The ball was swirling in the air and he managed to keep his eyes on the ball and holds onto it.
19.2 A Joseph to A Russell
W Take a bow Lockie Ferguson. What a sensational catch and he has got a big one. What a catch and what a time to take it. Given the pressure of this situation, ball curling away from you but still Ferguson holds onto that. A well-directed short delivery on this occasion from Alzarri Joseph. Russell goes for the pull, didn't get anywhere close to the middle of the bat as he wasn't in a position to play the pull. Ends up slicing that down the throat of Lockie Ferguson. He had to adjust, he overran that and releasing it was going further away from him quickly adjusts and takes it.
Akshay: That's a massive blow from Russell. 12 from 5 now. Joseph under the pump here and so is Nehra in the Titans dugout. He is having an animated chat with Kirsten.
19.1 A Joseph to A Russell
6 That is an incredible shot from Andre Russell to begin the final over. Alzarri Joseph just misses his yorker. Ends up as a full toss and beautiful height for Russell to muscle that well over the long-on fence for a maximum. The bowler is under a lot of pressure here now. Russell stays deep into the crease and uses his bottom hand power to deposit that well over the fence.
Akshay: 18 required off the last over. Alzarri Joseph to bowl the last and Dre Russ on strike. Let's see who comes out on top in the battle of the Caribbean.
