Thank you for tuning in to this contest for the last four days in our network. It's time for us to sign off. County Division1 and 2 games will be back next week from Thursday onwards. Do join us for those games and for the ongoing Indian Premier League as you can switch tabs to catch that action on this Sunday double-header. Plus, loads of cricket from around the globe. For now, this is me, Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Ajay Ahire, and Saipavan Janaki alongside our scorer/analyst Raju Kariya. Till next time, until we meet again, stay safe, happy, and cool. Cheers and TA-TA from my end.
So, rain has had the final say on the fourth day's play as incessant rain and the wet outfield has had the final say in the contest. A game that saw the bat dominate the ball hands down. It was a hard toil for the bowlers to say the least. Surrey batted first and scored 603 and then the home team responded with 443-2 with a double ton and a century in the hosts' innings. Surrey had a double ton and a hundred as well. It was the bowlers who were put to the sword. Only 12 wickets fell in 3 completed days.

Coming into Day4, only academic interest was alive, the result was a foregone conclusion. But as faith would have it, the rain had the final say. There was rain on the radar and it proved more than right as it washes off the fourth day's play.
The official news has come in and play has been abandoned for the day. Rain has beaten us on the fourth day and so this contest ends as a draw. It would have been a draw either way, but it's sad it had to end this way. Match drawn as the weather beats us here at Bristol.
So, as we get to the official Lunch Break, live pictures show that the covers are coming back onto the pitch. Rain seems to have come back here. We could be in for a very long delay here. Chances of play anytime soon look very unlikely.
The latest from the ground is that the square covers are slowly being removed. The signs are that the rain has finally stopped. The live pictures show the conditions to be overcast and quite gloomy at the moment. Some activity is going on on the ground. We will wait to see if and when we can have live-action today. The scheduled Lunch Break is at 17:30 IST and as we updated you earlier, there will be no play before Lunch.
The latest news we are hearing is that there will be no play before Lunch. That's the latest from Bristol for now.
So, the news from Bristol isn't encouraging. All the covers are firmly in place as there is a light rain falling on the ground. We are going to have a delayed start to the fourth day's play. As soon as we have any news on play starting, we will bring it to you. The chances of play in the first session look bleak. There was rain on the radar today and it has been proven right.  Stay tuned to our network for more cricketing updates. You can switch tabs to follow all the live-action from the Indian Premier League 2022. It's a double-header on this Super Sunday.

Saipavan: The third day has gone to Gloucestershire as they scored 443 runs in 120 overs for the loss of two wickets. They will need 10 more runs to avoid the follow-on. Gloucestershire trail by 160 runs with 8 wickets remaining. The opening Partnership between  Chris Dent and Marcus Harris is 296 runs with both openers notching centuries. Then, in the afternoon session, they lost 2 back-to-back wickets. After that, the Surrey bowlers failed to take advantage early in the game as they failed to create further inroads.

After that Dent and Hammond put on a 142-run partnership for the third wicket helping them to come back in the game result of this Surrey goes home without a bowling bonus point. At the end of the day, Chris Dent and Miles Hammond were well settled on the pitch and unbeaten 207 runs in 389 balls and 75 runs off 124 balls respectively.

Earlier in the game,  Surrey finished on 603 in their first innings, with a brilliant unbeaten double-ton from Jamie Smith, and a century from Jordan Clark. Jamie Smith scored the fourth double ton of his career and remained unbeaten on 234. Smith and Clark put up a partnership of 244 for the 8th wicket. Clark played an innings of 137 in which he hit 15 fours and 2 sixes. Ollie Pope and Sam Curran played half-centuries innings, both scored 84 and 64 respectively. Surrey reached a massive score of 603.

Another exciting day awaits us because Chris Dent and Miles Hammond both are well set standing in the middle with Dent already past a double-ton and Hammond 25 short of his century. Now we expect some big shots from both the batters.

A warm welcome to the coverage of the Final day of County Division One fixture between Gloucestershire and Surrey played at the County ground in Bristol. I’m Saipavan Janaki and will be joined by Ayan Chatterjee and Ajay Ahire and our scorer Raju Khariya as we walk you through the day’s play.

I am Anirudh, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Ayan and Saipavan, along with our scorer Raju. Do join us tomorrow for a run fest on the final day!
STUMPS ON DAY 3! And it's safe to say Gloucestershire have saved this match and turned it into a dead rubber! They end the day on 443/2, they will need 10 runs tomorrow to avoid the follow-on. They are still trailing by 160 runs thanks to the mammoth total put up by Surrey in the first innings.

A day that has firmly belonged to the Gloucestershire batters. By the end of it, the Surrey bowlers were knackered, frustrated and worn out. It all started with a 296 run opening stand between Dent and Harris, with both openers notching up centuries. Two wickets in succession in the afternoon session, gave Surrey a bit of hope.

But it is being followed by a magnificent 142 runs stand between Hammond and Dent, which resulted in Surrey going home without any bowling bonus point. The star of the day was Chris Dent, he started the day on 45 not out, and ends it on 207 runs off 389 balls still unbeaten. A well deserved standing ovation for the southpaw.

The Gloucestershire batters have scored runs at a brisk pace and have managed to pull their team out from the deep dark hole they found themselves in at the end of Day 2. Plenty of runs have been scored today, and a similar day awaits us tomorrow!
