After winning the toss Somerset Asked Durham to Bat first, Durham got a flying start from their openers, Debutant Jonathan Bushnell 24(34) and Graham Clark 86(101) added 60 runs for the first wicket, after that Clark got support from Captain Scott Borthwick 88(67) these two added 131 for the second wicket and made sure that their team crosses the 300 mark on this ground later on in the end Liam Trevaskis 44(32) scored some quick run along Tomas Mackintosh 28(20), Nic Maddinson made quick fire 24(13) in the middle, In the end, they managed to add 342 runs of 49.2 overs.

For Somerset, Sonny Baker took his career-best figure 10-0-46-6, and along with him Ben Green also took 2 wickets.

Chasing the target of 343, the Somerset never looked comfortable, the openers Matt Renshaw 23(29), and Steven Davies 9(9) got out for just 36 runs on the board. later on Lewis Goldsworthy 27(49), George Bartlett 34(40) added 56 for the 4^th wicket, Captain Ben Green 157(84) looked promising and he made and tried hard till the 40^th over the Somerset were 220/8 after that in 2 overs Green added 54 runs which brought them back in the action, Alfie Richard James Ogborne 3(22) gave good support to him for the 9^th wicket.
