So that brings us to an end of this encounter between Manchester Originals' women and Trent Rockets women but the entertainment will continue here at Old Trafford as the men of the respective sides mentioned above will be in action after some time so do join us there for all the enthralling action. For now, this is me Ajay Ahire signing it off along with my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee with our scorer Manish Bishnoi...Tata and see you...
Ellyse Villani, Trent Rockets Winning Captain: Great way to start the campaign. We had the momentum thanks to King and then we bowled really well and at the stumps. Happy to get the win. It was a wildcard and with Nat missing out, I was happy to lead the side and the bowlers executed the plans.

I am learning about the rules and I am learning. Yes, like the rules of bowling two straight overs as a bowler.

King is a character. She loves batting as well and with the ball, she is amazing and always does a job. She is fine and she will be chuffed about the hat trick.

The middle order batting was the main positive and showed resilience after the top order failed. The bowling was great as we attacked the stumps and either we got bowled or LBW and we didn't give them an inch.

The middle-order batting, the bowling, and the overall resilience that we showed were the biggest takeaways from this match for me. I hope Nat is back and we continue our winning momentum.
Alana King, Player of the Match: "Yes, we have got our first win on the board and I am pumped up. Yes, I am happy, but I am happy to contribute to the win and so the pitch was dry and we took advantage of it. I hope Warnie is looking happy down looking at us and so I am happy to have made him proud. Special to do it here at Old Trafford. The atmosphere was electric and I am loving the Hundred here."
That's it that's the end of the game here at Old Trafford. Trent Rockets were clinical with the ball as they outdid the home side by 43 runs and started off the campaign with a win. Alana King was superb with her web and took the hat-trick as she broke the back of the Originals' middle order.

Chasing 120 on a slowish track of Old Trafford, the home side especially Lee started off in a grand fashion as she notched up 14 runs in the very first set of the chase. But the Rockets made a strong comeback in the next couple of sets. Bryce came into the attack and knocked over Lamb with a peach of the delivery on duck. Dottin the superstar from the Carribian failed to make a mark with the bat as she was also sent back to the pavilion on a duck off the bowling of King. Bryce came back into the attack after that and picked up the important wicket of Lee on the score of 17.

Then Alana King came back into the attack for her second spell and drew havoc on the opposition as she picked up the hat-trick. And that certainly killed the hopes of the home side to chase down that total. None of the Originals' batters could go past the 15 runs mark and they lacked partnerships throughout the innings and that's where the Rockets did their work to knock them over on the score of 76 with 13 balls to spare.

Earlier in the day, The visitors with the bat posted a decent score on the board on a sluggish track of Old Trafford. Sophie was exceptional for the originals with the ball but Freeborn held one end throughout the innings and Alana King, in the end, struck a few blows and gave the much-needed finish to their innings. All and all it was a great performance from the Rockets to grab the victory in the first game of the season.
A run-out check here...Bryce collects the ball and takes the bails off cleanly and Jones is short of her crease. So out is the call from the third umpire.
87b K Bryce to Jones
1 Slower delivery here, Jones works it away towards the keeper and they run through for a single and this will be run-out here. The TV umpire has been called in here and Jones is short of her ground. So, The Originals have been bowled out for 77 in 87 balls. It's the Trent Rockets who win the contest by 43 runs.
86b K Bryce to Jones
0 Bryce is back to bowl her set.  Flighted delivery, Jones hits it back to the bowler and the catch is put down here.
