Well, that's it from Match 13 of the Vitality Blast T20 between Kent and Essex at St. Lawrence Ground, Canterbury. See you later with more exciting matches. It's me Dhanush signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit.
Good Night! Take care!
Game set and match done! Essex have won the match by 4 wickets. Defending champions Kent have now lost 2 in 2. They started off well with the bat. Bell-Drummond and Crawley gave them a good start scoring 31 and 40 respectively. Denly and Sam Billings managed the middle overs scoring 35 and 48* with George Linde giving the finishing touches with his 23 from 11. 184 was a good score on the board.
But, Essex openers Rossington and Buttleman had different plans as they both gave the visitors an explosive start with the Bat scoring 60 in the Powerplay. Even though they lost continues wickets int he middle overs, Paul Walter struck at one end by scoring an unbeaten 47 and took his side home comfortably with valuable assists from Tom Westley and Simon Harmer. In the end, Essex begin their 2022 Vitality Blast Campaign with a bang by defeating the reigning champions.
