Yes, finally, we breathe a sigh of relief as we end this long day involving three games. As the night progressed, we got to witness a different level of cricket. Kudos to Pakistan, as they gave us two nail-biting encounters. But to add to their sadness, they ended up on the wrong side of the result.

Credits would go to Zimbabwe, which is carried by the star of the year, Sikandar Raza, with both bat and ball. So it was South Africa, India, and Zimbabwe that emerged as the winners from the games played today.

We have a couple of matches coming up tomorrow. Two big matches from Group 1 as Afghanistan face Ireland at MCG, and in the second match, the oldest rivals in cricket, Australia and England, battle it out against each other on the same ground at Melbourne.

For now, it is AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Arijit Kundu and star scorer/analyst Chandan KR Singh brought you all the live-action of this biggest upset from the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. We will meet in the next match. Until then, it is a goodbye!
Craig Ervine (Zimbabwe Captain): "We were not here to just go back, we were here to play a good game. We were 20-25 runs short. We didn't want to end the tournament here, and this performs was a special one. I think our seamers hit the wicket well. Raza in the middle came up and picked some good wickets there. I think he has three now, and when we go home, we will give him another. I want to say thanks to the Zimbabwe support for cheering for us."
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "Definitely, we would have taken 130 in the first innings. Unfortunately, we lost a few wickets in the first six overs. Thankfully, Shan Masood and Shadab Khan played well with a good partnership. But Shadab got out at the wrong time. Then we lost a few more wickets in quick succession. They bowled well. Our bowlers bowled well to restrict them. In the end, we couldn't do well enough to win this. Definitely, we will come strong and hard in the next game."
Sikandar Raza | Player of the Match: "I am lost my words. I have lost those in these emotions. It was a hell of a match. I don't have any words to describe those. I can't express how proud I am of this group of boys. The way our seamers started at the top and the way we backed it up in the field and kept believing, I don't think there are any words I can say right now. The way we did that on the field and with the ball, it has been a sensational pull-off. When I was on the flight to Australia, I said to my players we can do this. I reminded the captain that he owed me three watches. I was excited today, and I saw this Ricky Ponting clip earlier in the morning, which inspired me to come up with this performance. Ricky Ponting deserves credit for this."

8:04 PM IST | What a scintillating encounter this has been!! What drama, what a spectacle!! Zimbabwe have defeated Pakistan by a margin of one run. Slap your face 😶, Bang your head 🤯, you may even pinch your skin🤏🏼, but yes, this is it☄️. Zimbabwe have beaten Pakistan by a margin of one run, and what a contest it has been!!

Plenty of drama’s in the game and in the end, Zimbabwe scripts history at the Optus, Perth. The players from the African nation are jubilant, Sikandar Raza over Brad Evans, this was some game.🔥 There were nerves but it's the Zimbabwean valor that overcome the fraught.

Earlier in the game, Zimbabwe had won the toss and elected to bat first. Zimbabwe lost two wickets inside the powerplay before the new pair of Craig Ervine and Wesley Madhevere glued 40 runs. Pakistan was brilliant with the ball in hand- be it the pacers or the spinners. Shadab Khan created pressure in the middle order and Haris Rauf and Md. Wasim Jun. was blazing fire today with the white cherry in hand.

Sean Williams scored 31 runs from 28 balls and was the highest run-getter for Zimbabwe today. He lacked support from the other ends, and the wickets kept on tumbling. Brad Evans played a cameo of 19 runs from 15 balls at the cue end of the innings and the African nation touched the 130 runs mark.

In reply, Pakistan lost wickets early and it was their openers, Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan. The big fishes were trapped and Zimbabwe was right in the game. It was Shan Masood who took the chase deep down with his 44 runs from 38 deliveries.

The southpaw lacked support and later, wickets in two consecutive balls from Sikandar Raza opened the gates of victory for Pakistan. 32 runs were required from 24 balls and Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani were stupendous in the next three overs. It was Mohammed Nawaz and Mohammed Wasim Jun. who were at either end of the strip then. It went down to 11 runs needed from 6 balls in the last over and Brad Evans had the responsibility on his shoulders to defend it.

7 runs came from the first two balls and Pakistan needed just 4 runs from 4 balls.🥶 It went down to 3 runs needed from the last ball after Nawaz was dismissed in the penultimate ball of the match. Ultimately, Zimbabwe kept their nerves calm, and a runout of the last ball made sure that Zimbabwe cross the finishing line on what we may yell as a 'heck of a humdinger' 😍

1W WICKETT!!! Zimbabwe win!!!! Fuller length and outside the off. Shaheen heaves off the inside half down to long-on. The fielder there throws to the striker's end, and despite a couple of fumbles, Chakabva removes the bails off. They complete the first run, and Shaheen sprints back for the second dives in hope but that is the end. Pakistan have to cover their face now as they are almost on the flight to Islamabad!

Goodness me!! Nawaz is gone and Pakistan needs 3 runs from 1 ball.
19.5 B Evans to M Nawaz
W WICKETT!! Excitement is in the space. Back of a length outside the off. Nawaz goes for a heave but is beaten on the bounce of Perth. Gets it off the splice of the bat, and it loops towards mid-off. Ervine there takes a good catch as he keeps his cool. Nawaz departs, leaving the team in despair.
Arijit: A dot ball here is as good as a wicket. 3 runs are required from 2 balls.
19.4 B Evans to M Nawaz
0 Back of a length from round the wicket. Angles it around the off. Nawaz misses the cut as it is too close for the shot. Nawaz slips and says no for the bye.
19.3 B Evans to M Wasim
1 Back of a length delivery outside the off and Wasim mistimes the thump towards fine of mid off. The fielder there leaps and dives to save the four. Single taken.
4 runs needed from 4 balls now and things are happening in favor of Pakistan now.
19.2 B Evans to M Wasim
4 FOURR!! Evans what are you doing? Fuller, slower in the slot on the middle stump. Back of the hand slower one. Wasim is deep in his crease and gets underneath it. He goes up and over the bowler's head for a boundary.
Four fielders in the deep on the leg side and one on the offside.
A boundary check is taking place and Craig Ervine has done a sensational job, diving and saving a run at the deep.
