That's it from our coverage of the 2nd KFC ODI between New Zealand Women and India Women. The hosts are 2-0 up with 3 matches to play in the series. They will be looking to seal the deal on Friday. India will hope to keep the series alive with the win on that day. Do join us for the 3rd ODI of this series and for other cricket across the globe. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee wrapping up on behalf of Ninaad Dixit and Akshay Bhide. Till next time, stay safe, happy, and cool. We will catch up with you soon, TA-TA!
Amelia Kerr is named the Player of the Match for her match-winning century.
That's the end of the game as the White Ferns go 2-0 up in the 5-match series after a close 3 wicket win over the visitors India with an over to spare. India had their chances, they fought better than the first ODI but still not enough.

It was a brilliant majestic unbeaten 119 off 135 balls that were the cornerstone of New Zealand chasing this target of 271. She was ably supported by Maddy Green who contributed with 52 off 61 balls. This was after the Kiwis were reduced to 57-3 in the chase losing Bates, Sattherwaite, and Devine very early in the piece. Katey Martin contributed with a handy 20 off 25 balls. Devine did start off aggressively with his 33 off 30 balls. But Bates and Sattherwaite had a rare failure today.

For India, Deepti Sharma was the pick of the bowlers with 4-52 in 10 overs. A wicket apiece for Rajeshwari Gaekwad, Poonam Yadav, and part-time off-spinner Harmanpreet Kaur. The pacers struggled in the absence of Jhulan Goswami who was rested for this game. Pooja Vastrekar was expensive as well.

Earlier in the day, India opted to bat first on a flat deck and put up their highest total ever against the White Ferns. 270-6 in their allotted 50 overs. Shafali Verma scored 24, Meghana scored 49 and Yastika Bhatia contributed with 31. Captain Mithali Raj scored another half-century as she held the innings together when a few wickets fell in the middle. She was the top scorer with 66 off 81 balls. Harmanpreet Kaur once again missed out as she scored only 10 runs while Richa Ghosh was the best batter on view with 65 off 64 balls and she injured her hamstring and ankle in the process. Pooja Vastrakar contributed with 11 runs off 11 balls.

From the Kiwi bowlers' point of view, Sophie Devine chipped in with a couple of wickets while the other bowlers chipped in with a wicket each. They were sloppy in the field and sometimes erratic with the ball but they managed to win a close game in the end. It was a nervy game with India trying all that they can, but the Kiwis were too good in the end as they go 2-0 up with 3 more ODIS to go. The main difference between the two sides is New Zealand batter managing to get to hundreds, while the Indians are getting dismissed after getting a start. That has been the difference so far in the series.

So, New Zealand won by 3 wickets. Stay tuned to find out who won the Player of the Match Award.

4 Finishes the match with a boundary! Length delivery outside off, easily thrashed through the covers. A square cut off the backfoot, beating the cover fielders! New Zealand win a thriller by three wickets at the end of the penultimate over!
48.5 H Kaur to A Kerr
3 Finds the gap behind point! Good length wide outside the off stump. Cut away off the backfoot. The point fielder gives it a long hard chase towards the boundary rope and manages to stop the ball.
48.4 H Kaur to J Kerr
1 Three fielders near the boundary rope in the leg side. All the fielders are inside the circle in the off side. Short and outside off, clubbed towards Shafali at mid off and scampers for a quick single. She aims at the bowler's end but misses on the direct hit.
48.3 H Kaur to A Kerr
3 Will get three on this occasion. Length delivery outside off, cuts late and finds the gap towards the right of Poonam Yadav at deep third man. The outfield is not helping as the ball slows down towards the boundary rope.
48.2 H Kaur to A Kerr
2 Length delivery outside the off stump. Goes straight with the arm. Punched through the covers and calls her sister back for the second run! Excellent running between the two.
48.2 H Kaur to A Kerr
WD Fuller delivery but too wide outside the off stump, Amelia leaves. Wide ball is the signal from the umpire.
48.1 H Kaur to A Kerr
2 Over the wicket, full and on the off stump. Slog swept over the mid wicket fielder towards cow corner. The long on fielder is vigilant and keeps it down to a couple of runs.

2 Short and on the off stump. Pulled away towards the deep midwicket region and runs the first run hard. The fielder gets to the ball an puts in a throw but excellent running between the wickets from the Kerr sisters!

47.3 D Sharma to H Jensen
W Knocks her over! Straight through the gate! Slightly fuller and flighted! Pitched on the middle stump, the ball skids through the surface and beats Jensen as she looks to play the sweep stroke towards square leg. Hits the top of off and middle! New Zealand are seven down, the game is back in the balance!
47.2 D Sharma to A Kerr
1 Length delivery on the stumps. Pulled away in the air but finds the deep square fielder as she collects the ball running towards her left on the bounce. One more run added to the total.
