That's the end of an exciting game of cricket. Join us back tomorrow for the double-header! Until then, it's me, Ajay, along with my fellow commentators Akshay and Ninaad, singing off. Good night and take care!
Sarfaraz Ahmed | Player of the Match & Winning Captain: "We targetted to build a partnership as we had lost two quick wickets. Roy and Ahsan Ali were outstanding at the start of the chase. Umar Akmal's innings was great towards the end. We have played this kind of cricket since the beginning. We fight till the last ball. Shahid Afridi and Noor Ahmad bowled really well. My idea of giving the new ball was because their openers like to go for shots early in the innings. I hope we can continue with this kind of performance."
Shadab Khan | Losing Captain: "The way Roy batted early in the innings, I thought we came back in the game very well but the way Sarfaraz and Umar played, in the end, was brilliant and we can't do anything about it. There are many positives to take. The way we finished our innings and credit goes to Faheem for an excellent cameo in the end. I have said earlier that we might get knocked over for 100 or 200. But we keep fighting till the end."
Not only do Quetta Gladiators gain two more points from this game, but they also take their NRR into the positive end of the spectrum. It was another 200-run chase, and it was, again, Quetta Gladiators who did it. These guys have been involved in as many as four chases of 200 or more runs in the history of PSL.
Earlier, the Gladiators were given a good start to their chase as Jason Roy smashed a knock of 54 runs at a strike rate of 200! Ahsan Ali and James Vince handled the middle over rather well, allowing the Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Akmal to inflict a much-needed onslaught towards the end. The Islamabad United pacers would not want to look at their bowling card after tonight's game. While Mohammad Wasim Jr conceded as many as 61 runs in his four overs, Hasan Ali leaked 49 from his spell of 3.4 overs. Shadab Khan continued his form and bowled to his reputation, finishing with figures of 3/25. Liam Dawson was also economical as he gave away just 30 from his four. Shadab may think he could have bowled the youngster Zeeshan Zameer a bit more, especially considering the way Ali and Wasim Jr failed tonight.
Take a bow, Sarfaraz Ahmed! The skipper does it for the Quetta Gladiators. Sarfaraz hung in till the end, took the game deep, and clinched another two crucial points for his side. His knock of 50 runs off just 32 balls came in just at the right time, as the game had slowly and steadily started drifting away from the Gladiators. The former Pakistan skipper, along with Umar Akmal, took 49 runs off the overs 17-18-19 to bring his side right on top towards the end. Not to forget, Akmal's 8-ball 23 was undoubtedly the game-changer as he turned the tables just when it mattered the most.
19.4 H Ali to S Ahmed
4 That's it. Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed finishes things in style. Take a bow Sarfaraz. What a sensational innings this has been. He also brings up his fifty with that final boundary. Hasan bowls a low full toss on the stumps, Sarfaraz flicks it past mid wicket for a boundary. With this, the Gladiators win the game by five wickets.
19.3 H Ali to S Ahmed
4 Drilled through the covers and races away to the fence. That should be the game for the Gladiators. Hasan bowls it full outside off, Sarfaraz reaches out at it and drives it past covers for a cracking boundary. No chance for the sweeper to cut it off.
19.2 H Ali to J Faulkner
1 Hasan Ali nails the wide yorker, Faulker swings at it and gets an inside edge in the leg side for a single.
19.1 H Ali to S Ahmed
1 Short delivery on the stumps, Safaraz pulls it hard but straight to deep square leg. Single taken. 6 needed off 5 now.
19.1 H Ali to S Ahmed
WD Hasan Ali to bowl the last and he starts with a wide. Tries to bowl it wide outside off but bowls it outside the tramline and wide signaled by the umpire.

18.5 M Wasim to U Akmal
W In the air and taken. Is there another twist in the tale? Wasim bowls it full on the stumps, Akmal looks to hit it over the mid wicket fence but gets it off the toe end of the bat and holes out in the deep. Ali in the deep settles under it and takes it safely. End of a brilliant cameo from Akmal.
18.5 M Wasim to U Akmal
WD Ohhh....That's a harsh call by the umpire. The bowler is not happy and so is the coach. Shadab has a word with the umpire. Short ball outside off, Akmal misses the cut and the umpire signals it wide. It was well inside the tramline and Shadab has all the right to question it.
18.4 M Wasim to U Akmal
6 SIXXX!!! Umar Akmal is turning back the clock. That's an unbelievable shot by Akmal. A low full toss from Wasim on the stumps, Akmal manages to get under it as he times it superbly to tonk it over cow corner for a maximum.
