Match Abandoned without a ball bowled and this is not the first time that rain has played spoilsport in a Ford Trophy match this season. Initially, the toss was delayed due to wet outfield and there was supposed to be an inspection at 5:30 AM which got delayed multiple times. The rain kept pouring down at regular intervals and as a result, the match was abandoned.

This is the 5th match of this season's Ford Trophy. It will be played between Northern Knights and Central Districts in Seddon park, Hamilton.
Central Districts are playing their first match, while Northern Knights are playing their third. The Knights were defeated by Canterbury by 7 wickets in their first match. Apart from Jeet Raval, Joe Carter, and Henry Cooper, who all scored fifties, no other batters scored enough runs to put a solid total on the board against the Central Districts, and their bowling performance was not good enough to defend 240 in 32 overs (due to rain, the game was reduced to 32 overs per side).
The Knights second match against the same opponent, which was a rematch of their first match, was called off without bowling a single ball.
On the other hand, it's the Central Districts first match, and they're hoping to get off to a good start early in the tournament.
