Milestone
That's it for today from the Super Smash. Do join us for the upcoming matches from all around the globe. For now, this is me Badal Pareek signing it off along with my Co-commentators Jatin and Rahul.
Otago won the toss and decided to bat first. They were decent with their approach in the first innings. Majority of their batters contributed but none of them actually went on to score big. Four of their batters crossed the 20 run mark but none went on to score a fifty as a result they couldn't really go all out at the end. But, they did manage to get a decent first innings total on board. Otago ended their first innings at 157 for 5. Wellington started the chase in some fashion as Allen went all out from the start. Allen was scoring with a strike rate over 200, he was finally dismissed by Kitchen at 68. He did the majority of the damage and helped his team lay a foundation for victory. Rain interrupted play and the players were forced to leave the ground when Wellington were 110 for two wickets after 11.4 overs. DLS came into play and when the match resumed the target was 117 in 15 overs which meant Wellington needed 7 runs in 3.2 overs. They managed to get the 7 runs without losing any more wickets and ended up winning the match by 8 wickets thanks to DLS.
Wellington win by 8 wickets after DLS came into play.
13.1 A McKenzie to M Bracewell
4 Four! Bracewell finishes it off in style with a boundary. He dances down the track and pulls it over mid-wicket for a boundary.

The match will resume in a few minutes. The game has been reduced to 15 overs. Their target according to the DLS is 117. Wellington needs 7 runs off 3.2 overs.
Rain seems to have stopped, the groundsmen are trying to dry out the outfield as soon as possible. Play might resume in a few minutes if the rain stays away.
We have around 30 minutes for the match to restart if the rain stops and they manage to dry out the outfield which is highly unlikely. But you never know what may actually happen. DLS is likely to decide the result of this match.
Umpires finally make decision to leave the field. Rain is pretty heavy to play. Covers are on the field now. In the process, Wellington are 110/2 in 11.4 overs. Need 48 runs from 50 balls as we wait for the rain to stop....
11.4 H Rutherford to T Johnson
0 Again bowls full and straight and Johnson plays it softly toward Rutherford, no run.
