The match has been called off due to rain. Northern Knights and Otago will have to share points in the 3rd match of the Super Smash. The fixture was concluded after just 13 overs of the first innings. Northern Knights were asked to bat first. They lost an early wicket in the powerplay but Raval and Carter did steady the ship. The rain did play spoilsport in the initial stage of the first innings and the match was reduced to 17 overs a side. Raval scored a blistering 33 off 18 balls but once he departed things went a bit off track. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The Northern Knights were 106 for 6 after 13 overs when the night sky started to pour once again. The match couldn't resume and as a result, the two teams will have to share the points.
Update 13:49 (IST): It is official that the match has been called off. The two teams will share the points.
Update 13:47 (IST): Rain is back. The covers are on at the moment. It looks like the match has been called off we are awaiting official confirmation.
Update 13.24 IST: The news is coming that the first innings is done and the best possible scenario for Otago is likely to be a 5 over chase. Still to get a update on the target. Stay tuned...
13:07 (IST) Update: It has stopped raining and the covers are slowly coming off. The groundsmen are at work and hopefully, we will resume live-action shortly. It will be interesting to see how many overs have been reduced and what the target will be for Otago.
It is still raining in Hamilton. Extra covers are being brought in to cover the area of the bowler's run-up.
Rain has arrived again. Covers are back on. Stay tuned for the next update..

12.6 J Gibson to A Verma
0 Good length ball on off, played it to short extra covers for no run.
12.5 J Gibson to P Bocock
1 Short and outside off stump. A half-hearted attempt to scoop it towards the man at third man. The batter tries to pull out of the stroke but the ball kisses his bat on the way to the third man. He gets lucky with that as it could have gone anywhere.

12.4 J Gibson to S Kuggeleijn
W Wicket!!! Slower ball outside off. Kuggeleijn tries to hoick it over long on boundary but gets no timing on it. Ball goes in the air and the deep fielder takes it easily.
12.3 J Gibson to P Bocock
1 Short and on the stumps. Bocock dances down the track and pulls it towards the man at mid-wicket for a single.
12.2 J Gibson to S Kuggeleijn
1 Good length on off, played it to deep covers for a single.
Right, Five overs left in the first innings of this rain affected encounter. Knights will aim to reach a score of over 150 as the ball is coming on nicely on to the bat. These two need to cut loose and put their foot on the accelerator.
12.1 J Gibson to S Kuggeleijn
6 Six!! Pulled away towards the square leg for a maximum. Short of a good length angling in towards the hips. The batter just picks it up and deposits it into the stands.
