It’s Team Abu Dhabi that advance further after registering a comprehensive seven-wicket win over the Bangla Tigers.
Batting first, the Bangla Tigers were restricted to 101-4 in 10 overs. Jonathan Charles was dismissed for not, on the very first delivery by Sheldon Cottrell that put the pressure straight away on the Tigers. Faf du Plessis’ stay was short as well, as he was sent back for 12 by Fidel Edwards. Will Jacks followed his skipper on the very next ball, after getting caught. Fidel Edwards was on the verge of completing his hat-trick, as Hazratullah Zazai lofted it high, but de Lange grassed a simple opportunity. The Afghanistan international made the most of it and powered his way to an unbeaten 66* from 37 deliveries. The Tigers managed to score over a hundred but would feel that did fall short by 15-20 runs.
As for Team Abu Dhabi, they kicked off the run chase in a scintillating manner. Phil Salt and Paul Stirling accumulated a breezy opening run-stand of 81 runs from just 4.5 overs. Paul Stirling was at his best, as he struck 57 from 20 balls, which consisted of five fours, five sixes, and a strike rate of 285. Philip Salt also played a valuable knock of 24 from 12 deliveries to give his side the edge. Team Abu Dhabi eventually chased down the target with a final score of 105/3 from 6.5 overs.
Benny Howell picked up two wickets, while Isuru Udana scalped one, as the Bangla Tigers crash out of the tournament.
