Jaffna Kings won the toss and opted to field as everyone were surprise from the decision. But he was right. The first innings was interrupted to rain couple of times. First delay was for more than a hour and the second delay was nearly for 45 minutes. After the first delay the match was reduced to 16- over per side. But when the Warriors were batting at 94/2 after 12.2 overs the rain came again and that was the end of Kandy innings. Asalanka top scored for them as he put up 44* runs off 34 balls. After the second delay the target was 95 runs to Jaffna Kings and they had 10 overs to chase. Avishka Fernando gave them a flying start as he scored 23 runs off 12 balls. But the game was over in a flash, as Thisara Perera smashed the Warriors bowlers for 29* runs in just 13 balls. In the end Jaffna Kings beat the Kandy warriors by 7 wickets with 8 balls to spare.
