Thisara Perera: "Need to give credit to the bowlers as they bowled well in such tough conditions. It was difficult to hit against the yorkers. I had a good partnership with Avishka, really happy with our batting unit. It's too late (for the celebrations) tonight. We are already exhausted and done."
Angelo Perera: "We were expecting the game to end with two balls left because Powell was hitting the ball well. We will miss him. But Bopara replaces him. I thought we could have done better, out of the three games, we should have won two. Our mistakes cost us those two games."

So, what a fabulous game we have had. A 14 over contest due to rain and we have seen fireworks at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. In the end, it was the Jaffna Kings who won this game by 14 runs via the DLS Method. 181-6 plays 166-5 in 14 overs. All in all a great entertainment value for the crowds that came to Colombo.
It was Avishka and Thisara who stole the show in the 1st innings while Shiraz Ahmed stole the show with the ball with 3-22 in 3 overs. 181-6 in 14 overs was always a bridge too far but boy they gave a fight of themselves. The bowlers of both the teams were sent to the cleaners. Hasaranga was not spared either.
In the chase, it was Asalanka's 42 off 19 balls that set the tone, and then an incredible knock from 61 off 19 balls was just breathtaking. Devon Thomas's innings of 43 off 36 baffled us all.
In the end, it was Suranga Lakmal's spell of 25 runs in 3 overs that won the game for the Kings. So, the Kings climb up to 2nd in the points table while the Warriors stay at the bottom in 5th place. 27 SIXES were hit today.

Ajay: As mentioned earlier Suranga Lakmal put out an excellent effort here in this run-fest. He only gave 25 runs in his 3 overs spell and picked up an important wicket of Powell.
