Milestone
Bangladesh will be looking to take the positives out of this game and come back stronger in the second test. That's it from us today, I am Ovaise Shariff signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayaan Chatterjee. Join us for all the action from the second Test starting on the 8th of April at 1.30 PM IST. Until then it's Good-Bye!!
Keshav Maharaj, Player of the Match: "Yes, it's quite emotional. Playing at home is always special, and taking the team home is great. It's about being patient and hitting the right lines and lengths and Simon helped to keep it tight from the other end. As cricketers, we can be impatient, but it's all about sticking to the process and doing it over and over again. The first innings of patience paid off for us. It's not often that two spinners play for the Proteas in tandem and I thought he bowled well. I am happy for Simon Harmer, he took his opportunity with both hands. We cannot take anything for granted, we have a series to win, back to the drawing board for us from tomorrow as we get back to practice tomorrow. My father, sister, and niece are all here and it's nice to be doing well in front of them. I hope to continue this in Port Elizabeth. "
Dean Elgar: "it's not often we've had a Test go into five days. We had to apply ourselves pretty well, and execute our skills which was a challenge for our young-ish bowling unit. A hard-fought Test win. We started well this time which is a massive positive for us. Conditions played a factor with regard to our team selection. We were able to select two experienced spinners. Seamers still applied themselves. A lot of learning curves for a lot of guys. Team management has worked really hard and helped us prepare well for this series.  Experience plays a massive part, I have been fortunate to experience that in the sub-continent where they declare and you bat in the dark. A lot of things react differently. Fortunately, we were in a position of batting first. I'd have liked our batters to apply themselves a little bit better especially after lunch yesterday. Knowing that the light was touch-and-go forces you to bowl the spinners and that worked out well for us. Extremely healthy for both spinners, they are pushing each other in the nets. They are extremely competitive. We have a good headache with regard to selection. "
Mominul Haque: "We just tried to play according to the merit of the ball. We wanted to play it to the last session, but unfortunately, we lost in the morning session and that's disappointing. We were poor with the bat and we knew Durban will spin, but we played too many loose shots. We did well with our pacers in the last few tests. There was moisture in the pitch, but we gave away 50-60 runs more in the first innings. We have some positives to look forward to. Few injury concerns but I think the new guys will do well. We will take some rest before we go again at Port Elizabeth."
Time for the post-match presentation by Pommie Mbangwa.
Ovaise: South Africa have wrapped this very early on Day 5, Bangladesh were on the back-foot right from the first over when they lost Mushfiqur on the 5th delivery of the day, Maharaj picked up 3 wickets in the first 3 overs he bowled today, Simon harmer also chipped in with a wicket from the other end, Bangladesh at this moment had lost 4 wickets in the first 6 overs.

The Visitors had no answers against the spin duo, except for Taskin Ahmed no one else got to double figures today, Taskin was the last man to get dismissed on 14. It was the first time that South Africa used spin to open the bowling in a home Test and they made incisions at both ends yesterday. A similar story was seen today, Keshav Maharaj ended with brilliant figures of 7-32 in his 10 overs, and Harmer picked the other three wickets. South Africa used just two bowlers in the innings to pick the 10 wickets. Dreadful batting display from the Bangladeshi batters, they lasted just 19 overs today, a lot better was expected from the visitors.

53 - Lowest ever Test score by a team at the Kingsmead, Durban and this is also Bangladesh's second-lowest ever in tests. It is also the first time that South Africa have taken all 10 wickets through spinners.

South Africa take a 1-0 lead in the 2-match Test series, Bangladesh will be looking to take the positives out of the game, and learn from the mistakes they made and come back stronger in the second test.
