That brings us to the end of our coverage for the series decider. Till the next time, it's ta-ta and good-night from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty), my fellow commentator Anirudh Modi along with scorer Raju Khariya.
David Miller | South Africa Captain: "It's a privilege to play 100 caps for your country and to cap it off with a series win is perfect. Rilee and Reeza batted very well to give us that start and the batters just carried that on. Today was just phenomenal, and a team fielding performance and really happy with that. Tristan has proved in domestic cricket that he can hit a long ball but to do it at this stage is brilliant. The process we have undertaken over the last 18 months has been a learning one and we have come up leaps and bounds, players putting up their hands at the right moment is all we want from this team."
Jos Buttler, England skipper- "Yeah I thought that was a really good score on the board but I still had a lot of confidence in our group. The way we went out was disappointing. We lacked intent and confidence and couldn't quite put the opposition under pressure. We were not able to rest the initiative. That's a great realisation for us as we haven't performed as well as we would have liked. We have to access how to get back. We have gone through changes as a team which is fine. Change of leadership, change of personnel. We have some time to go away and reflect. A huge tournament is there on the horizon and we will be hoping to bounce back. Anytime there is a World Cup it's exciting. The series against Australia will be the last opportunity and we will be hoping that it's a settled unit."
Reeza Hendricks: "Very happy with my performance and happy to contribute. A good team performance to clinch the series. Markram and Rilee were fantastic the last two games. The depth in the squad is there, the competition in the team is massive and whenever you step out, you need to make your mark. It was a competitive total today, it was a tricky wicket, they bowled well early on. Look that's a performance we want to forget about (Bristol), that wasn't our game but happy to improve from there."

Tabraiz Shamsi, Player of the Match- Really enjoyed myself. Huge credit to the batsman. They put up an above-par score. The bowlers who bowled before me were exceptional so half the job was done. It was a bit of a pounding in the first game but these things can happen in T20 cricket. The biggest thing I keep in mind is how to come back. Before I came to the game, my wife casually said to get four wickets and that is why I was so animated after getting the five wickets.
Moeen Ali: "It's been decent and I've been playing quite well in the T20s for a while but a disappointing summer for the team. I do enjoy batting at Bristol and breaking the record was the highlight of my summer. I think Jos as a captain wants us to take responsibility as the guys who have been playing for a while, my job is to go out there play my shots and enjoy really. Morgan said the same thing towards the backend of his career, and obviously playing Chennai up the order gave me the confidence to carry that on."

Arya- Earlier in the day, it was the English skipper Jos Buttler who won the toss and put South Africa in. He had mentioned in the previous toss as well that they will look to set themselves different challengers and chasing a total is one of them. It was the worst possible start for South Africa as they lost Quinton de Kock in the very first over of the match. Reeza Hendricks and Rilley Rossouw resurrected the innings with some exhilarating strokeplay and made full use of the fielding restrictions.
Rossouw carried on from where he left in the last game. The left-hander was smashing the balls all around the park and his innings was mixed with caution and aggression. He played the delicate shots brilliantly and raced off to 31 before getting castled by a special delivery from Moeen Ali. It pitched on the middle and straightened enough to beat the outside edge and clatter onto the stumps.
Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks then joined each other in the middle and batted quite brilliantly. They knew that it was very tough to clear the boundary ropes, hence they tried to find the gaps and use the timing more than brutal power hitting which came out brilliantly for them. Markram was quite exceptional and Hendricks went onto score his third consecutive fifty of the series.
A partnership of 87 runs laid the platform for a grandstand finish. Hendricks was eventually dismissed by Chris Jordan in the 17th over but there was still some lusty hitters left. David Miller, the South African skipper got off to a sensational start, smashing 18 in his first 6 deliveries which provided the impetus for South Africa. He was dismissed for 22 of 9 deliveries but he had done his job. Eventually a few good strikes from Tristan Stubbs and Markram took South Africa to a score of 191.

Arya- The target of 192 was never going to be easy for the home team especially given the huge pockets in the ground. England couldn’t quite get going right from the word go and it became all too much for the middle order as the rate kept climbing at a rate of knots. It was certainly a dominating performance from the South African bowlers, Tabraiz Shamsi in particular who finished with a magnificent five-wicket haul.
It was a sedate start from Roy and Buttler. The latter tried to take on the South African bowling but had to perish of the bowling of Keshav Maharaj. He went too much deep into the crease and ended up outside edging that straight down the throat of the short third-man fielder. There was just no recovery from England as they kept losing wickets on regular intervals and were not able to press on the accelerator.
Anrich Nortje bowled very quickly with the new ball in the powerplay and bagged the prized wicket of Jason Roy with a quick short of a length delivery. Malan couldn’t quite get going either as he was holed out at deep square leg of the bowling of Andile Phehlukwayo. He targeted the long boundary but it was always going to be a tough ask to clear him.
Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone who had the ability to turn the match on it’s head struggled for timing and couldn’t quite get the big shots in. It was an incredible catch from Tristaan Stubbs to send back Moeen Ali to the pavilion, while Livingstone and Curran were lured into false shots by Tabraiz Shamsi who was not afraid to toss the ball up and challenged the batters to take him on towards the longer boundary.
Jonny Bairstow kept losing his partners at the other end which didn’t really allow him to strike big. They kept falling apart as wickets kept falling in clusters. It was a disappointing effort from the home team as they were eventually skittled out just after crossing the 100 mark. While their Test form has risen to a new level, they have struggled big time in the white ball format. They have to rebuild before the showpiece event in Australia later this year.
Arya- A thoroughly convincing victory for South Africa as they win by 90 runs to take the 3-match series 2-1. It was a clinical all-round showing by the visiting team which saw them crush England quite convincingly owing to a sensational bowling performance from the Proteas. A win by a margin of 90 runs will surely give a huge confidence booster to South Africa.
