Stafanie Taylor | West Indies Women Captain: "It's a nice feeling. A nerve-wracking thriller. We thought we were 10-runs short and we knew that we need to bowl and field well. We done well it in the patches. Its important and those two added well. I remember once in Pakistan this happened. Some times when the top order fails it should be lower order who do the job. We expect such things from Deandra. We are not focusing on the opponents much and we are trying to focus on the area which will help us improve the game."

Heather Knight | England Women Captain: "Well, they batted outstandingly well early on. They were aggressive here in the morning. Ecclestone and Cross bowled well in the middle. But the partnership later which we couldn't break early was the difference. Our fielding was poor today and we could have done better. We are hoping for a comeback against South Africa at Mount Maunganui. Yeah, we could have got some more runs in the powerplay but it was not poor though. Ecclestone is a proper batter and we are happy about her performances."

Shemaine Campbelle | Player of the Match: "I tried to give myself some time. I tried to stay till the end and score runs by staying on the wicket. We need to keep going in the same way in the competition. I think the girls played well. We hold onto some brilliant chances and that lifted us in the game. We played as a unit and it was a combined team effort. We need to keep the focus and carry the momentum forward."

Earlier, on an overcast morning West Indies Women won the toss and opted to bat first. Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews started aggressively and didn’t allow England Women seamers to settle in. Katherine Brunt and Anya Shrubsole were traveling all around the park. It needed Sophia Ecclestone, the World No.2 spinner to break this partnership of 81-runs from 20.1-overs. She first took Matthews for 45 off 58-balls, and then Dottin (31off 64 ) got out in the same over for a run-out and then in the fifth ball of the same over Stafanie Taylor gloved one to the keeper without opening her account. Ecclestone changed the match with her incredible spell. Dottin was the victim of a special effort by Wyatt. They were left stranded at 98/4 after being in a strong position at 81/0.

A very very special partnership of 123-runs for the fifth wicket between Shemaine Campbelle (66 off 80) and Chedean Nation (49 off 74 unbeaten) took them past the 200-mark. Campbelle got out to Natalie Sciver. They eventually ended on 225/6 at the end of 50-overs.

Sophia Ecclestone was at her best with her figures of 10-4-20-3. Natalie sciver picked a wicket and a couple of run-outs helped England Women to restrict their opponents. But England Women’s fielding was very very poor right from ball one, dropping five catches and missing a couple of run-outs which cost them in the end.

Akshaya: An incredible bowling performance from West Indies Women’s as they skittle England Women’s here. The game which had many ups and downs and Anisa Mohammed does incredibly well to win the game by just 7-runs. England have nobody to blame here. West Indies now keeping other teams at bay and the defending champions are now have a thinking to do. It was the drop catches that costed England Women side. Now it's a bit late to talk about those but truth is truth. This is the first time that West Indies Women have defeated England Women in the World Cup.

Chasing an average total of 226-runs to win, England Women started off steadily as Lauren Winfield-Hill and Tammy Beaumont put together 31-runs in 8.1-overs. Winfield-Hill was unlucky as she was the victim for a stunner of a catch at point by Deandra Dottin. Before this a couple of catches were put down by West Indies Women. Wickets fell at regular intervals one by one and were at one stage 94/5. Beaumont was the fifth batter to go but before she was out she held one end up with her 46-runs off 76-balls.

But at this stage the duo of Danielle Wyatt and Sophia Dunkley rebuilt the innings with a much needed partnership of 60-runs for the sixth wicket. As Dunkley miscued one to short mid wicket at her personal score of 38 from 35-balls, England Women’s side saw another collapse but this time they were put on the brink of the defeat. After three balls of Dunkley’s dismissal Wyatt followed her with her score of 31 from 33-balls.

Then another partnership of 61-runs for the 9th wicket between Sophia Ecclestone (33 off 41 not out) and Kate Cross (27 off 35) wasn't enough. Anisa Mohammed done well in her fifth over and ran out Cross at the bower's end and then to get rid off Anya Shrubsole to script a memorable victory. England Women are bundled out for 218. She took a couple of crucial wickets. Ecclestone was left stranded at the other end as she was the star both with bowl and with the bat as well.

Shamilia Connell was the pick of the bowlers as her figures read 10-1-38-3. Hayley Matthews continued her good performances today as well by picking up two big wickets. Aaliyah Alleyne, and skipper Stafanie Taylor picked a wicket each in their support.

W WICKETTT!!!! Oh! my goodness. What was this from Shrubsole? Tosses it up fuller on the middle. Shrubsole comes down the track and ends up yorking herself here. The ball goes under the bat of Shrubsole and the ball hits the wicket. Excellent from Windies to keep their nerves. It was Dottin in the first match and Anisa in the second as they win by 7-runs here.

W WICKETTT!!! Anisa Mohammed is now back again. Tosses it up on the fuller length just outside the off. Ecclestone comes down the pitch and hammers it straight back at the bowler. Anisa gets a hand on it as she tries to catch it but it deflects on to the stumps. Huge appeal and third umpire replay says Cross is backing up a bit too much. OUT. England are 217/9 and need another 9 runs here.
