So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentators, Arjun Bhalla, Akshay Bhide, Mohammad Farzan, Anurag Dasgupta (first innings). Stay tuned to OneCricket and Cricket Exchange for coverage of more such exciting matches.
Ruturaj Gaikwad: "I go through normal routines, try to stay neutral. Nothing different about today. Powerplay was crucial, wicket was holding a bit, Robin played really well. It was important to take the odd risk and go for it. I plan for 2-3 overs in advance and which bowlers I can target. Have to be crystal clear, take it an over at a time and take it deep. Every time, MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming tell me to start afresh, that's what separates the good players from the normal players."
Ruturaj Gaikwad has been named as the 'Man of the Match'
MS Dhoni: "Crucial innings, Delhi has a very good bowling attack. Big boundaries to contend with. I've not done a lot this season, I was just trying to watch the ball. We haven't really experimented with our batting order. The thinking behind Thakur's promotion was if he clicks, he'll make it easier for us. Didn't happen that way.Robbie likes to bat up the order, we leave it to God to decide who goes at 3. If the openers bat well, it's Moeen, if not, it's Robin. Ruturaj plays authentic shots, he's very a good talent. Emotions were quite high after we didn't qualify last season, credit goes to the support staff and the individuals' character."
Robin Uthappa: "I am feeling very grateful and am happy to contribute. It's my son's fourth birthday and this knock is for him. We needed a good start and I just played on merit. There is nothing to worry about my hamstring, probably it's just a niggle and should be fine by the final. I just try to focus on my routines and am very grateful that I could contribute tonight. CSK is the most secure group and after my time under Gambhir Gambhit at Kolkata, this is the most comfortable I have felt mentally."
Rishabh Pant: "Obviously it's very disappointing, don't have enough words to describe how we are feeling right now. The only thing we can do is rectify our mistakes and move on to the next one. I thought that Tom bowled beautifully throughout the match, last over unfortunately went for runs. I thought the bowler who is having a great day, it's better to use him for the last over. I thought the score was decent but they got off to a flier in the powerplay and we didn't get enough wickets and that was the main difference. As a cricketer, we are going to rectify our mistakes, gonna learn from it and move on to the next one. Hopefully we can win and play the final".
What a fairytale ending for CSK and their fans. The skipper MS Dhoni showed everyone a glimpse of his old days while taking CSK to their ninth IPL final! What a sensational record for the franchise!!

Chasing 173 for a spot in the final, CSK didn't get off to a great start as Anrich Nortje bowled Faf du Plessis in the very first over. However, Robin Uthappa started off in glorious fashion as he removed off the cobwebs that were seen in the previous few games. Uthappa found the fence with regularity while his partner Ruturaj Gaikwad anchored the innings. CSK rode on the back of Uthappa's touch to make 59-1 in the Powerplay but the scoring rate slowed down during the middle-overs.

Eventually, Gaikwad accelerated and this helped Uthappa also as the duo kept the asking rate in check. It was only a piece of fielding brilliance that broke the 110-run partnership as Shreyas Iyer took a great catch at long-on to send back Uthappa. CSK promoted Shardul Thakur as a pinch hitter but the move didn't work as he holed out to long-off to become Tom Curran's second victim.

The 3-time IPL champions started to collapse as Iyer was involved in a superb run-out with Kagiso Rabada as Ambati Rayudu was sent back prematurely. However, the young Gaikwad kept his nerve and manipulated the field as the required run-rate came below 12 runs per over. Just when CSK reduced the equation to 24 required off the last two overs, Avesh Khan removed Gaikwad with a low full-toss. The skipper MS Dhoni surprised one and all by coming in instead of Ravindra Jadeja but he responded by smashing a six off the fifth ball of the penultimate over.

With 13 runs needed off the final six balls, Moeen Ali got out immediately but MS Dhoni relieved the pressure with two consecutive boundaries. Tom Curran felt the pressure as he followed it up with a wide while Dhoni smashed another boundary to finish the game in style!
Akshay: He is MSD. I repeat, he is MSD. He promoted himself above Jadeja and takes his side to the final.
19.4 T Curran to M Dhoni
4 FOU!!! Short delivery, Dhoni pulls it in front of square for a boundary. FOUR!!! Chennai Super Kings advance to yet another final by defeating Delhi Capitals with a margin of four wickets!!
Arjun: Tom Curran is getting scared off MSD's image!!! His image of a bully with the bat in hand.
Akshay: Pressure. Pressure. Pressure. 4 runs required now from 3 balls.
19.4 T Curran to M Dhoni
WD Full and outside the tramline, Dhoni can't reach it, WIDE called!!
19.3 T Curran to M Dhoni
4 FOUR!!! Wide length delivery, Dhoni swings and inside-edges it to fine-leg for a boundary. FOUR!!

Arjun: The Englishman does another Englishman here. Tom C - the hero. He came in the game as the weakest link in the DC lineup, now he has turned the table in Delhi's favour. Hattrick ball loading and MSD will be on strike!!!!
19.1 T Curran to M Ali
W Slow and short, Moeen swings it to deep square-leg where Kagiso Rabada peddles back and takes a catch. WICKET!! Perfect start to the over for Delhi Capitals!!
13 required off the last over. Who will bowl the last? Surely it's going to be Rabada. Moeen Ali on strike. Hang on. It's Tom Curran to bowl.
