So that's it from today. It's good bye for now from me (AkshayaKrishna Polya) who was along with Ajay Ahire and Anirudh Modi as we brought you all the live actions from this mouth watering encounter. We will meet in the next game. Until then, it's cheers..!
Man of The Match, Josh Hazlewood: "Its probably exciting more than anything (Bowling the super over). Nice little chat with the captain to finalize plans before the super mover. Confidence is high at the moment, and it was nice to execute it well. Playing consecutive games in the series and tournaments, you learn a lot from the guys who have played 300+ T20 games. There's plenty of experience around."
Aaron Finch(Winning Captain): "Really happy to get the win here in this nail-biting contest. We were sloppy but got the win in the end and that is what matters in the end. I was confident that Hazelwood will deliver for us and he did it. Great to get the win here. Sloppy work in the field and we need to look after that. The batting wasn't that easy and I thought we were happy with the total we got."
Dasun Shanaka, Sri Lanka Skipper: " You know it was a thriller. We gave some runs extra in the last over which costed us. The boys showed the character of fighting. I am proud of our boys. Nissanka is a world class player. He has shown it since the world cup."
Time for the post match presentation.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. McDermott and Finch started steadily as they added 33 runs for the first wicket. McDermott was the first one to go as he became the maiden international victim to debutant Nuwan Thushara. Finch was struggling to pick the wrong-uns from Hasaranga and eventually getting out stumped. Josh Inglis played magnificently well for his 48 from 32 balls falling two short of his maiden half-century as he was the second victim to Hasaranga. Inglis chipped in with Finch and Maxwell for a couple of crucial mediocre partnerships.

Maxwell, Smith, and Stoinis struggled to find the middle of the bat as they chewed up many balls before they got dismissed. Chameera got rid of Smith and Stoinis in a matter of two balls to push the Aussies back. A couple of lusty blows from Matthew Wade ensured that they reach past 164/6 in 20 overs.

Chameera and Hasaranga took two wickets each. Theekshana and Thushara supported them with a wicket apiece.
Chasing 165 to win, Sri Lanka started nervously and lost wickets is clusters. They were 25/3 at one stage after 4.4 overs. Gunathilaka and Asalanka didn't even open their accounts. Hazlewood was always there and there about with his line and lengths as he clubbed together a couple of wickets early in the piece. Nissanka and Chandimal steadied the ship as they added 42 runs for the fourth wicket. Chandimal was found wanted as he tried going across the line against Zampa.

Later, skipper Shanaka punched the Aussies back with his monsterous hitting who along with Nissanka put together a solid 48 run partnership for the fifth wicket. Shanka was striking the ball all around the park and all from the middle of the bat. At this point Smith changed the complexion of the match. He stunned Shanaka with a direct hit from deep mid wicket and sent him back to the pavilion. He scored 34 runs from just 19 balls containing 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Karunaratne didn't contribute much and the match swung back towards the Aussies. Nissanka continued and got to his first fifty against the Australians. Hasaranga struck two fours but got out straight after that.

They needed 19 runs off the last over from Stoinis. Nissanka tried hard but couldn't take his team home. His 73 from 53 was brilliant one which pushed the game to the last over.

Theekshana blasted a six of the 4th ball of the 20th. Smith tried his best to stop that. Needing 5 runs of the last ball, Chameera struck a boundary to tie the match.

Hazlewood was excellent with his figures of 4-0-22-3. Stoinis, Richardson, Cummins and Zampa contributed with a wicket each.
With that it's all over for Sri Lanka tonight. They fought well but fell short of their goal. Australia win in SUPER OVER to go 2-0 up in the series.

After 40 overs the match was right in the balance and needed Super Over to decide the winner. Hazlewood bowled well for the hosts by just giving away 5 runs in the super over. Shanaka struggled to score in that over. Maxwell done well to get rid of Chandimal by running him out.

Needing just 6 runs in the Super Over Stoinis and Maxwell finished the match in just 3 balls of Wanindu Hasaranga.

The players are now taking the field here. Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis to open for the Aussies. Hasaranga will bowl the penultimate over for Sri Lanka. Here we go...
What a brilliant bowling from Hazelwood. Sri Lanka managed to score only 5 runs in the super over. So 6 runs are needed now from the Aussies to win this game. A great piece of fielding from Maxwell led to a brilliant run-out of Chandimal on the third ball. Shanaka failed to get the timing right as a result he scored only a single in 4 balls that he faced.

1 Single to end the super over innings for the Lankans. On a fullish length just in the channel outside the off. Nissanka on the crease inside edges this pull back on to his pads for a single. Australia need six now to go 2-0 up.
0.5 J Hazlewood to P Nissanka
2 Short ball on off and middle. Nissanka on the back foot miscues this pull shot which falls safely in the square leg area. They run through for two runs.
