That's it from us tonight. That is it from me, Arjun Bhalla and my co-commentators, Karthik Raj and Arijit Kundu. See you all on the 13th for the live coverage of the third T20I. Till then stay tuned to OneCricket's live coverage of a lot more cricket matches.
Nicolas Pooran | West Indies Captain - Thank my coaches for giving me the chance to lead the team. My record at winning tosses isn't good, but we knew we wanted to bat first, just wanted to post runs on the board. It was nice to see Hetty respond after last night. Batting was an issue, but it was pleasing the way they responded tonight. Dwayne asked the question to Polly and it made sense. It was important to have a right-left combination going and hence I pulled myself back a bit, it was important to keep the partnership going, with the wind factor, we knew if we kept wickets in hand, we could go hard. No information on him as yet, I'll check on him later (on Edwards). We know how passionate Fabian is, he is working hard on his craft. Someone like Hayden Wash, he works day in and out, nice to see him doing well.
Aaron Finch | Australia Captain: The wicket didn't change throughout, it played pretty well. When your two openers get out early, it puts a lot of pressure on the middle order. The 100-plus partnership between Hetmyer and Bravo proved to be the difference. It's always tough to bowl to a left-right combination, especially with the wind blowing like that. We will look to come back well. Need to win 3 more games to win the series, we will keep working hard.
Shimron Hetmyer | Player of the Match - One of my best innings for me, was hitting quite well, it quite worked out, my role is to bat as deep as possible. I didn't do anything different, just did the same thing like last game, the partnerships were important. Was looking to bat deep and give the gutsy a chance to bat at the other end. I'm trying to bat well and finish off the innings as well. I have never batted with him before, nice to bat with him, he was just telling me to keep going and do what I did best. Allowed me to trust myself.
Shimron Hetmyer gets the Player of the Match award for his knock of 61 runs.
Time for presentation ceremony now.
Arjun: Earlier in the day, Australia won the toss and opted to field first here at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium. The visitors started stepping in the right direction as the West Indies slipped to 59 for 3, before DJ Bravo stepped out in at number 5 to shake hands with Hetmyer as the duo shared a 103-run stand. The duo rocked the Australian bowling. Bravo scored an impressive 47*, but Hetmyer's 61-run knock came to an end in the 18th over. While the finishing touches were provided by Russell as Australia posted a monstrous score.
Arjun: Post Marsh, Australia crumbled like a pack of cards. The run-rate pressure was like a ticking bomb as the so-called Australian finishers weren’t efficient enough to deliver in such scenes. Both Henriques and McDermott were perished within a span of three balls, while Agar decided to perform hara-kiri as he fell during a disastrous run-out. In the end; DJ Bravo, Cottrell, and Gayle cleaned the tail as the Windies registered a massive 56-run victory and take a 2-0 series lead.
Arjun: Marsh was then accompanied by Henriques where the former was doing the most of the hitting, while the latter all-rounder was doing well to rotate the strike. In the process, the Australian number 3 scored his second consecutive half-century in the series. But the twist was awaiting as the half-centurion went back to the hut while skying Walsh.
Arjun: As the chase began, they lost the man-in-form, Wade early on the very second ball as he handed his wicket to Cottrell, before captain Finch was outclassed by Edwards with a dipping full toss. Mitch Marsh and Phillippe did get united but the latter too fell wanting against the mighty Men in Maroon as he chose Walsh to gift his wicket.
Arjun: Australia have kneeled down against the mighty West Indies yet again. The story of the second innings is daunting and painful for the visitors as they had to chase a total of 197 runs. Although the pitch was a belter but the pressure of the required run rate got better off the Aussies.
End of the day, end of the match! And like this, the West Indies take a 2-nil lead in this series as they have registered a massive 56-run victory over Australia.
19.2 C Gayle to J Hazlewood
W Wicket! Length delivery on the stumps, Hazlewood backs away and looks to swing but he misses to see the middle stump knocked back!! That is it. West Indies seal a dominant 56-run win!!
19.1 C Gayle to M Starc
1 Full outside-off, Starc drives it to long-on for a single.
