That is all from the commentary box for the third match of Vivo IPL 14. Stay tuned for tomorrow's encounter between Rajsthan Royals and Punjab Kings. Till then, it's ta-ta and good night from me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my co-commentators Vikhyat Jain and Karthik Raj.
Nitish Rana is the Man of the Match- I thought the ball was in my slot (first ball, off Bhuvneshwar) and luckily I got a four. My game-plan is always that if the ball is in my slot I'll try to hit it. I was backing myself and looking to hit balls. I've been playing spin since childhood, so in a way, it's in my blood.
Eoin Morgan: Delighted. The build up to the tournament has been pretty good. The camp before the tournament, the guys seemed to gel really well. I thought it was magnificent the guys batted today at the top of the order in particularly, Nitish and Tripathi. And the bowling too, couldn't have asked for a better start. It was a tight game against a really tough side. There's a huge amount of thought and structure that goes into decisions on the field. We've got a great head coach and support staff. The IPL is all about results. I think guys buying in to what we are trying to do. Bhajji starting really well in the first over and not playing a part after that but using his experience to guide the others just shows that. Really happy with the start. We were very happy with our score, we thought if we bowled half decently well we should get over the line.
Murali Kartik calls Eoin Morgan for a brief interaction.
Nitish Rana again bags the Upstox Most Valuable Asset of the Match Award. Receives a cheque of Rs 1 lakh and a trophy.
Prasidh Krishna bags the Cred Powerplayer of the Match. Conceded just 11 runs in the powerplay taking a wicket. He gets a trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Nitish Rana also bags the Unacademy Let's Crack it Sixes Award. Smashed four sixes during his brilliant knock. Gets a trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Nitish Rana bags the Dream11 Game Changer of the Match Award. He yielded 119 fantasy points today. Gets a Dream11 Trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Rahul Tripathi receives the Safari Super Striker of the Match Award. A strike rate of 182. Gets a trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
Manish Pandey gets the Vivo Perfect Catch of the Match Award. Gets a trophy and a cheque of Rs 1 lakh.
That's time for the post-match presentation.
Prasidh Krishna: I was trying my best to get the pace up. There wasn't much in the wicket and I had to put in something to get the ball to the keeper. We had a very good 10-day camp to get everyone into good nick and it's nice that everyone has chipped in. The wicket was slow, not easy to hit off a length which I realized while bowling and they (Rana and Tripathi) did really well. Vijay Hazare Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali and all those games have gotten me game time and helped me with my performances. Confidence is upbeat now because I am coming off a good series and I hope to contribute further for my team. Some of the biggest hitters are in my side, so I am quite fortunate. But all the players are down to earth and it's really nice being part of this team.
David Warner, SRH captain: I didn't think there were that many runs on this wicket. They adapted really well, had a good partnership. We failed to execute the first ball of most overs and then conceded a lot at the end. We lost early wickets, and Jonny and Manish got us in a good position, so we had our chances. The dew made a difference. If the bowlers overpitched, it was easy to hit it, and with the height in their team, and with the cross-seam, it stopped a little bit on us. We would like to have won the first game, but we have four more games at this venue and hopefully we will get used to the square and the dimensions of this ground.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was SRH skipper David Warner who won the toss and opted to field. KKR got off to a sensational start courtesy a sublime knock from the blade of Nitish Rana. He shared a fifty runs stand with Shubman Gill for the opening wicket who also looked in sensational touch. Following Gill's dismissal, it was a brilliant partnership between Rahul Tripathi and Rana which got KKR well on course. Rana carried his bat and smashed a sensational 80 of 56 deliveries. Eventually it was Dinesh Karthik's whirlwind unbeaten 22 of 9 deliveries which propelled KKR to a score of 187 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
Arya: In the end some exceptional death overs bowling by the KKR bowling cartel didn't allow the SRH lower order to go after the bowling. Abdul Samad played a brilliant cameo towards the fag end of the innings but it wasn't enough in the end. Andre Russell held his nerves and delivered a perfect final over which eventually helped KKR win the contest by 10 runs.
Arya: There was a great partnership between Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey which helped SRH force their way back into the match. Bairstow continued from where he left during the limited over series against India. The partnership almost changed the complexion of the game but it was Pat Cummins who bagged the wicket of Bairstow which turned the match totally in favour of KKR.
Arya: Harbhajan Singh was introduced in the attack in the very first over and almost dismissed David Warner in his opening over but Pat Cummins missed an easy chance at point. However, Prasidh Krishna removed the southpaw in the second over and Shakib Al Hasan then castled Wriddhiman Saha in his first over. That was the much-needed start for KKR and Hyderabad looked in some pressure.
Arya: Kolkata Knight Riders makes a winning start to their Vivo IPL 14 edition. In the end the target of 188 proved to be a bit too much for the Sunrisers Hyderabad as KKR won their opening clash by 10 runs.

6 SIX!!!! Finishes off with a six. Lines this up and bangs this length delivery on the stumps and deposits this well over the deep midwicket region for a maximum. A convincing victory for KKR in the end.
