The home side was completely outstanding as a unit and continues their run of home series-victories. Well, that's it for the day and with this, we close the chapter of NZ-BAN series. Signing off, Arijit Kundu accompanied by co-commentators, Akshay Bhide and Vikhyat Jain.
Skipper, Tim Southee collects the trophy followed by his team-mates as they celebrate the triumph. Loud roars can be heard. That winds down Bangladesh's short limited-overs tour of New Zealand and it also marks the culmination of a very, very successful home summer for the BlackCaps. They have brushed aside every single opponent right from West Indies, Pakistan, Australia, or Bangladesh.
Glenn Phillips | Man of the Series: At the moment I am really comfortable with where my game is in the middle order. I know when to go and when to hold back. Good to know that I can do the bowling under pressure as well. This team has been brilliant throughout the series. We love being around each other and playing with each other. It is the culture that produces winning. We always have to have fun, and enjoy playing in front of crowds.
Finn Allen | Man of the Match: It was good fun and batting with Guptill is nice. Thought we'd give ourselves a bit of a chance and play our shots up front. It was excited to get out here, it's a bit intimidating, but it was fun to be talked thorugh every ball and to watch Guptill hit everything out of the park. I just thought I'd stick to my processes and just hit them hard and stick to my strengths. It's pretty cool to learn from all of these guys and it's been a really cool, and it's a good, relaxed environment here to be honest.
While arriving to chase down the mammoth total put on by New Zealand, Bangladesh lost two of their vital wickets right in the first over. Mohammed Naim was the only batsman who was looking good but couldn't last long. The bowlers were exceptional throughout the innings as they varied their pace and skills according to the situation quite well. Todd Astle and Tim Southee were the standouts amidst the bowlers as they scalped 4+3 (7) from their quota of two overs each. Adam Milne, Loci Ferguson were supportive too as the overall unit rattled the Bangladeshi batting order to 76-10 after 9.3 overs.
It's been a great display of batting and bowling by the Kiwis as they earn a comprehensive victory in the last of the three t20's in Auckland. They were ruthless from the start and didn't give any opportunity to the opposition to snatch the game away from them. Winning the toss, Bangladesh decided to put the home side to bat first. Openers Guptill and Allen gave a flying start and spanked the Bangladeshi bowlers mercilessly all around the ground. Guptill went onto score 44 of 19 and Allen raced 71 of 29 deliveries. Credits to some sloppy fielding efforts from the Bangladesh fielders. Contributions from Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips down the order boosted the scoreboard to 141-4 after 10 overs. Shoriful Islam was the most economical bowler giving away 21 runs from his 2 overs quota.
So, a wreckage in the Bangladesh ship as their crew succumbs to the mammoth total halfway down the scoreline. After a rain-fed start to the game, the overs were reduced to 10 per side. After a clean sweep in the ODI's, Bangladesh somehow had put them under the bars for another whitewash in the t20 series too. This was an opportunity where they could have avoided the clean sweep but the end result is their opposition seemed too strong and resilient to be defeated in their home soil.
9.3 Glenn Phillips to Nasum Ahmed
W This will cap off the series and the tour for Bangladesh, slower through the air and Nasum swings at it but one gets a leading edge to the covers fielder, taken comfortably and NZ wins by 66 runs
9.2 Glenn Phillips to Nasum Ahmed
0 On the good length, Nasum sits and goes for the slog sweep but wears it on the pads
9.1 Glenn Phillips to Nasum Ahmed
2 Flighted and tossed up from Glen, pushed on the on-side for a scouple
