Anurag D: That's it from the comm box. Thank you all for joining us. Exciting day tomorrow as we have a double header. See you all tomorrow, till then, byee from me, Anurag Dasgupta, along with my co-commentators, Anurag Singh and Vikhyat.
Anurag D: Player of the match award goes to Faheem Ashraf for his majestic spell of 3 wickets for 11 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
Man of the moment, Paul Stirling on that scintillating knock: "I was just glad to get adjusted to conditions here again and get a few runs and win the game. It was a tough few 48 hours with things off the field. It's tricky, I'm not gonna lie. It's tough to not know if you're gonna be playing or a delayed game. We could have been here until 2 am last night. We finally got told this afternoon that we're gonna be on at 7 o'clock so we had enough time to get our heads around it. I think someone else might have caught it [my catch at backward point] without diving. I was just trying to play late and use the pace on the ball. I might have to work on the stuff with the pace off the ball for the next week. Everyone has been great. We're all trying to keep each other going and by the end of that hopefully we're still going well."
Anurag D: Stirling was amply supported by Alex Hales, who was happy to play the second fiddle in the innings. Despite Stirling back in the pavilion, there was no pressure at all on the United batsmen as they easily chased down the total with 18 balls to spare.
Anurag D: Chasing 157 against a weak Gladiators bowling line-up, Islamabad United got off to a stellar start as Paul Stirling completely dismantled the Gladiators with his power hitting. The Irishman was on song and there was no stopping him today. The stylish right-hander reached his first half-century of the season as he scored a magnificent 56 of just 33 deliveries, which involved a 17 run over of Dale Steyn.
Anurag D: That's it, the game is over and it has been a dominant performance by the Islamabad United team. They won this match with 6 wickets in hand and with three overs to spare. With this victory, United have won three out of their possible four matches and are now the table toppers of PSL 2021.
