That's all we have from the comm box here. Do join our coverage for the West Indies South Africa game where Windies have posted 167 batting first in 20 overs courtesy a Kieron Pollard blitz towards the fag end of Windies' innings. Till the next time from here it's ta-ta and babyee from me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my fellow commentators and good mates Anurag Singh and Anurag Dasgupta (DG).
Sam Curran, Man of the Match- Really special, to be playing in front of the fans, you can hear them now. Awesome atmosphere, to do it on home ground really special, and to get the win. T20s the ball swung quite consistently which was nice. Don't know why but not going to complain. [Still learning?] I definitely feel I've played a lot of cricket, feel like I'm learning, picking the brains of other guys. The more I play and fail I learn from those experiences. [Tom?] Thought he was a bit unlucky, I got the wickets but the team played well. To be playing with Jase and Tom, two Surrey players, and to get the result was very cool.
Sam Curran is the Player of the Match.
Eoin Morgan, England captain: Nice to score some runs and make a contribution to a series win. Game was set up by the bowling unit, two left-armers swinging it early, and then the wicket became a bit flatter and slower and we had to sit in and build pressure to create chances. Chasing down a target like that on a wicket like this should be reasonable. [Form?] It's worked in my favour, distractions as a captain, to not think about your batting for some time. Still don't think I'm striking it that well but nice to get some time in the middle. [Bristol] Think we'll see more changes, only three days but also an eye on the Pakistan series, 50-over cricket is a chance to bring guys in. Always looking to grow and get better.
Kusal Perera, Sri Lanka captain- Top-order, 21 for 4, it's hard to get back but Dhananjaya and Wanindu gave us a start, followed by Shanaka and at least 240 is something for our bowlers. [Dhananjaya] He played tremendously, but can't get a hundred unfortunately, we're inconsistent but there are positives. [Final match?] Series is lost but we have to try to finish with a win.
Time for the Post-Match presentation ceremony.
Arya: Hasaranga was dismissed by a well-directed short delivery from Sam Curran. From there on it was de Silva and Dasun Shanaka who staged a comeback for the visitors. Dhananjaya de Silva in particular looked like playing in a different surface to that of the other Lankan batsmen, especially in the top order. He looked unfazed and struck some delightful shots en route to 91. Yet again the short delivery proved to be his nemesis as he failed to control a pull and ended up giving a straightforward catch to the deep square leg fielder. Shanaka looked set for another half-century but just fell short. In the end Binura Fernando and Dushmantha Chameera struck some meaty blows which got the Lankans over the 240 mark which proved way below par in the end. For England Sam Curran bagged his maiden five wicket haul finishing with figures of 5/48 while David Willey chipped in with 4. It was a day for the left-arm pacers as far as the home team were concerned.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was Morgan who won the toss and put the visitors in. Sam Curran and David Willey was all over the Lankan top order and reduced them to 21-4 in less than 5 overs. The likes of Nissanka, Kusal Perera and Avishka Fernando never looked comfortable at the crease and gave away their wickets cheaply. All through the day the short ball proved to be their nemesis and Sam Curran took full toll. With 4 wickets down, Dhananjaya de Silva and Wanindu Hasaranga shared an important stand of 65 runs to try and get them back into the game.
Arya: Bairstow and Roy shared a 76 runs stand for the opening wicket before Wanindu Hasaranga persisted with a nagging line and length and managed to get his prized wicket. Roy at the other end went onto complete a well-deserved half-century and was soon dismissed after reaching the landmark. From there on it was all England as Test captain Joe Root and limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan stitched together an unbeaten 140 runs stand to get across the line by 8 wickets and with 7 overs to spare. Both Morgan and Root played some delightful shots during their stay. They looked unfazed at the crease as the Lankan bowlers never managed to put any sort of pressure on them. Kusal Perera missed a difficult chance of Morgan and that was it for the visiting side. In the end the score of 242 proved to be nowhere close to enough.
Arya: Sri Lanks carried some momentum in the second innings courtesy a good finish by their batters to take them to a total where they at least had something to bowl at. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow started off in their own merry way. Roy in particular looked in total control and smashed 10 fours during his knock of 60. He tormented the Lankan bowlers with his high-class strokeplay and got England off to a sensational start which made things very easy for batsmen coming after him.
Arya: That brings us to an end of yet another one-sided contest in Sri Lanka's tour of England as England knock off 243 runs with utmost ease and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3 match ODI series. The visitors were thoroughly outplayed in each and every department of the game which has been the case in all the five games on this tour so far.
