Adelaide Strikers will be disappointed with the loss but they are still in the tournament and will be hoping that the results of the other games go their way.
Nikhil: Earlier today Adelaide Strikers were treated to some good swing bowling at the start of their innings. They lost three quick wickets and the important ones of Alex Carey, Phil Salt, and Travis Head. They were 39/3 after the end of 8 overs and were struggling. Jake Weatherald was holding the innings together and played some incredible shots to build the innings. He was well supported by Jonathan Wells who scored 21 to help Strikers reach 115 which wasn't enough for them to win this match.
Nikhil: Sydney Thunder needed 116 runs to win in 14 overs. They were to a horrific start when Daniel Worrall cleaned up Khwaja with an inswinging delivery first ball. Worrall bowled a terrific over and gave the Strikers the perfect start. Alex Hales and Callum Ferguson had different plans, they attacked the bowlers and put the pressure back immediately on the Strikers. Hales smashed some huge sixes and scored yet another 50 to take the game away from Strikers. Ferguson was holding the innings together and batted sensibly with Hales to build the partnership. Hales remained unbeaten on 63 off 39 balls and Ferguson was not out on 46 off 33 balls.
Nikhil: What a win for Sydney Thunder! They win the game and also win the important Bash Boost Point to move to the 3rd position in the point's table with 31 points! Adelaide Strikers will be disappointed with their loss and they are at the 4th position in the point's table with 28 points. They are closely followed by Hobart Hurricanes with 27 points, Brisbane Heat with 25 points and Melbourne Stars with 24 points. Adelaide Strikers will have to wait for the results of the other games for their playoff spot.
