Arya: So that was all for today. Like always it was a pleasure bringing all the live updated from the match. Till the next time, adieus from my side, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my co-commentators Karthik Raj and Arijit Kundu.
Arya: Munro, in particular, was quite severe on the spinners and his knock of 45 of 30 deliveries eventually helped the Scorchers get past the 180 mark. Inglis also struck some important blows before some quick wickets pegged their run rate back. However Ashton Turner like most times this tournament provided a late order blitz as he remained unbeaten on 18 of a mere 9 deliveries. The bowlers didn't really manage to contain the batsmen as they raced off to a score beyond 180. In the end, it proved to be just enough by 11 runs.
Arya: Hilton Cartwright also smashed some good blows towards the back end of the innings but that wasn't enough for the Stars to get past the target. Earlier in the day, it was Melbourne Stars who won the toss and opted to bowl. The Scorchers got off to a brilliant start courtesy some sublime hitting by Jason Roy upfront. He looked in complete command while Liam Livingstone was finding it difficult to get his timing going. The partnership of 83 was broken in the 10th over but the run rate was never an issue despite the wicket. Colin Munro and Jos Inglis shared an impressive stand after Roy also fell in quick succession.
Arya: The match went down the wire but in the end it was a relatively easy win for the Scorchers in the end. Chasing a target of 183 was always going to be a challenging task for Melbourne Stars. The Stars got off to a breezy start courtesy opening a 26 runs opening stand between Marcus Stoinis and Seb Gotch. Nick Larkin provided the much-needed impetus in the middle overs as he took on the Scorchers' bowlers. His knock of 70 of 44 deliveries kept them in the match till the last few overs but in the end it was the Scorchers' bowlers who held their never and registered a 11 runs victory.
Arya: So that was a professional performance by the Perth Scorchers as they ease past Melbourne Stars by 11 runs to register their 8th win of the tournament. So Scorchers and Sixers are the two teams who have qualified for the playoffs and Scorchers occupy the top position now

19.6 Jhye Richardson to Clint Hinchliffe
1 single down the deep midwicket region to a yorker-length delivery on the stumps
19.5 Jhye Richardson to Hilton Cartwright
1lb a quick bouncer from Richardson, Cartwright tries to pull this down deep fine leg, gets hit on the head, the ball rolls down the fine leg region and takes a leg bye single, the mandatory concussion test and Cartwright is all right here
19.4 Jhye Richardson to Hilton Cartwright
6 SIX!!! full on the stumps, Cartwright is deep into his crease and drills this up in the air and it goes sailing over the long-on boundary for a six, a flat hit by Cartwright
Arijit: So, the Scorchers are heading towards a hat-trick of a win here.
19.3 Jhye Richardson to Clint Hinchliffe
1 bowls this full and wide outside off, Hinchliffe cuts this past the point region and takes a single
19.2 Jhye Richardson to Clint Hinchliffe
2 another full delivery outside off, Hinchliffe ends up slicing this delivery just over covers and takes a couple again, singles and doubles won't lead them anywhere
19.1 Jhye Richardson to Clint Hinchliffe
2 full just outside off, Hinchliffe thrashes this down the deep point region and completes a couple,

Arijit: Nothing except raining boundaries can save the Stars to continue their undefeated streak.
18.6 Aaron Hardie to Hilton Cartwright
2 low full toss outside off, Cartwright hammers this straight down the ground towards the long-off fielder for a couple, didn't time it properly here but the mistiming allows them to return for a brace
18.5 Aaron Hardie to Clint Hinchliffe
1 back of a length outside off, Hinchliffe hammers this past the point region but straight to the deep point fielder, only a single here, 27 needed of the 7
18.4 Aaron Hardie to Clint Hinchliffe
4 FOUR!!! shortish length slower from Hardie, Hinchliffe clubs this down the ground over the bowler's head and finds the straight boundary
