Kingshuk: So, that's it for today from me, Akshay and Arya. We at One Cricket will see you tomorrow for the last game of this year as Adelaide Strikers take on Perth Scorchers at 1:45 pm. Bye bye
Kingshuk: Mujeeb Ur Rahman was adjudged the man of the match despite being from the losing team as Heat dropped to sixth position in the league table with just one win from five matches. On the other hand, Hurricanes look solid in their bowling department, courtesy of which they occupy the third position in the league just below leaders Sixers and Thunder.
Kingshuk: The bowlers fared better though, with Afghan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman picking up his maiden fifer in T20 cricket. The pace battery of Meredith, Boland and Ellis did well in most phases of the game. Barring the last few overs of course where they failed to land their yorkers due to a heavily soaked ball and landing crease. Merediyh in particular was impressive beating every single batsmen for pace and bowling at an average speed of 145.2 kilometers per hour.
Kingshuk: It was mix bag of a game from both sides with the batting unit failing to get any momentum. Superb efforts from Dawid Malan of Hurricanes and Bazley of Heat meant that they kept the fight going as their comrades fell down one by one.
Kingshuk: It's not over till it is over, and the BBL has served up a heartbreaking example of that. Down and out midway through the game, Brisbane Heat pulled it back in the last 10 overs and came agonisingly close to an astonishing victory. Some late hitting by James Bazley (49 off 31) and a defiant effort from Mark Steketee meant that they required just two runs off the final ball. At the end, they fell short by a single run as Steketee got run out trying to take a sharp single at covers.
Kingshuk: What a game of cricket though.
Kingshuk: Why was the check so short? He looked in from the angle that was shown on the broadcast but the bat might have not landed in. From the other angle just shown, it seems that Steketee landed the bat just short of the crease and it bounced off because of the dive. Harsh, very, very harsh.
Akshay: You gotta feel for Steketee here. Dived full length but was short courtesy of Air-Borne Bat.

Arya: That was a close call here, I am just flabbergasted to say the least, how can the 3rd umpire give it out by looking at the replays just once, it is out but was a close shave to be honest
Huge, Huge confusion. This can get very very tight. It's out. It's given out
19.6 Scott Boland to Mark Steketee
W Is that a Run Out? A low full toss outside off, Steketee drives it straight to the covers fielder where the Ingram fumbles but gathers it and direct hits it at the non-striker's end. Steketee dives and gets in but the bat is above the ground and OUT it is. What a dramatic finish to the match
Akshay: 2 needed from 1. Are we up for a Super Over?
19.5 Scott Boland to Mark Steketee
2 Slower ball on the shorter side, Steketee pulls it past mid wicket and comes back for the second
19.4 Scott Boland to Mark Steketee
0 A Dot Ball. A slower ball around off, Steketee gets bat to it but hits it straight back to Boland. 4 runs needed from 2 balls
19.3 Scott Boland to James Bazley
1 A low full toss on the stumps, Bazley heaves and gets it of the inside half of the bat to deep square leg for a run
19.2 Scott Boland to Mark Steketee
1 In the slot on the stumps, Steketee heaves this to deep square leg for a run
Kingshuk: Two very different strategies from the hurricanes fast bowlers. Ellis stuck to his wide yorkers, while Boland is aiming at the heels
