Sourya: The Thunder move on to 11 points post this win from four games to be second, while the Renegades are still languishing low down at four points from four games. It was great fun bringing this game to you, signing off on behalf of my fellow commentators, Arya Sekhar and Karthik. Goodbye, everybody.
Sourya: After being put in to bat, the high-flying Sydney franchise were propelled by their openers Khawaja and Hales and later Davies who got 48 to a huge 209. The pitch looked a hell lot easier when their batsmen were going all guns blazing. Things began looking tricky when the Renegades came out, chiefly because of discipline and guile from the bowlers and the spectre of a huge target weighing on the batsmen.
Sourya: To be honest, Finch and his deep batting order never got going in their chase of a mammoth 210 on the face of some lovely bowling by the Thunder who kept on getting wickets from the word go. The pick of the bowlers for them was definitely the young leggie Tanvir Sangha who finished with figures of 4/14 from 3.2 overs. All the other bowlers used by Usman Khawaja got among the wickets. For the Renegades, who have now suffered a third straight loss, only captain Finch looked to be in some command in an innings of 20.
Sourya: That was some carnage from Thunder in the second innings with them bowling out the hapless Renegades for 80 to win by 129 runs within 13 overs.
12.2 Tanveer Sangha to Peter Hatzoglou
W WICKET!!!! and thats it for the game, Sangha finishes with 4, tosses this up, Hatzoglou goes for a big shot down the leg side, again gets a top edge straight down the throat of the long-on fielder, an utterly comprehensive performance from Sydney Thunder here, a huge win by 129 runs, Renegades have a lot to ponder upon before the next match
12.1 Tanveer Sangha to Kane Richardson
1 tossed up leggie from Sangha, Richardson goes for a heave down the leg side, gets a top edge which falls just wide of the point fielder
