Kingshuk: So, that's all from us today. On behalf of the team, this is me Kingshuk Kusari signing off from today's game, disappointed, despite witnessing an exceptional effort by Jimmy Peirson.
Kingshuk: While this game could be remembered for a lot of things. Apart fro Piersen's innings, Rashid's exceptional attacking bowling was a talking point. The running between the wickets and the number of close chances that went begging away. But, this game would be highlighted by a couple of awful LBW decisions in the game that changed the complexion of both teams beyond recognition. As we sum this up for the day, Cricket Australia needs to rethink the idea behind not taking DRS for their premier T20 tournament. And if the Big Bash wants to be taken themselves seriously, they would like to make changes, really really fast.
Kingshuk: Just when all felt lost at 8 for 68, an extraordinary fightback from Jimmy Peirson and Mujeeb Ur Rahman took them agonisingly close to the finish line. Piersen's efforts were breath-taking in particular as he stood and deliver against a great bowling attack who for some reason failed to hit the right areas.
Kingshuk: Coming into the chase, Heat were on the wrong side of the Lady Luck once again losing Sam Heazlett early on the innings. While they found it difficult to get runs away some awful umpiring in the middle of the innings threw them completely out of the match.
Kingshuk: Earlier in the day, the match started ominously for Heat who lost their captain just after the toss in a hamstring injury. After being allowed a substitute by Strikers, Heat bowled well to restrict Strikers to just 150 runs. The ball moved around for quite a bit and because of that the Strikers never got going.
Kingshuk: Just how it began with a spark right before the power surge, it has been put off in the final 6 balls. Piersen did everything correct and got his team into a position from where they actually had a shot. It was an exceptional performance by the stand in captain who got them agonisingly close with his knock of 69 off 36 balls but fell short by the barest of margin of just 2 runs
Akshay: It's a heartbreak for Peirson and Heat fans. A valiant knock from Peirson just wasn't enough for the Heat.

19.6 Daniel Worrall to Jimmy Peirson
4 FOUR!!!!! but its not enough in the end, full outside off, Peirson hits this from the outer half of his bat wide of the deep fine leg fielder and finds the boundary, Heat lose by a solitary run but hats off Jimmy Pierson, a stellar knock and almost snatched victory
Akshay: 6 for a Super Over. Peirson has to connect it of the middle now
19.5 Daniel Worrall to Jimmy Peirson
0 denies a single again, low full toss, Peirson hits this down the leg side towards the deep square leg region, super over on the cards?
Akshay: Again denies a single. Needs a boundary of this ball now is Peirson
19.4 Daniel Worrall to Jimmy Peirson
0 another well directed yorker, Peirson again digs this out and hits this down deep square and denies the single yet again, 7 of the last 2
Kingshuk: They dont take a run to deep mid wicket. Peirson needs to channel his Dhoni. This could be one of the most epic counters cricket has ever seen
19.3 Daniel Worrall to Jimmy Peirson
0 low full toss from Worrall, Peirson works this straight to the deep square leg fielder and denies the single, could be the hero for Brisbane Heat, what a fascinating run chase this has been
Kingshuk: That's 7 from 4. Super Over very much on the cards
19.2 Daniel Worrall to Jimmy Peirson
2 full delivery outside off, Peirson tries to hoik it down the leg side, gets the outer half of his bat down the deep midwicket region and has enough time to take a brace and keep the strike
Akshay: A perfect start for Peirson and Heat.
19.1 Daniel Worrall to Jimmy Peirson
4 FOUR!!!! full toss from Worrall, Peirson moves towards the off stump, nonchalantly flicks this past the short fine leg fielder for a boundary
Akshay: 13 required from last over. Chance for Peirson to be a Hero
