Milestone
We have witnessed everything in this series- sixes, wickets, sensational catches, dropped catches. Now the action shifts to the longest format which is the most awaited series this year. It was lovely to bring you the updates of this match. Tata from me, Akshay Bhide, and my colleagues AryaSekhar Chakraborty and Kingshuk Kusari. Bye Bye.
Hardik Pandya | Man of the Series: I'm very pleased, and wouldn't mind getting the award, but it was a team effort. After the 2nd ODI we thought we'd make this a 4-match series and we managed to get three wins, so happy with that. I don't mind giving interviews because. I haven't seen my child for four months, so I'd like to spend some time with family.
Hardik Pandya is the Player of the Series.
Virat Kohli | India captain: At one stage when Hardik started going we thought we could pull it off. The middle over phase during our batting cost us the game. A partnership of 30-odd would've madde it easier for Hardik. We are finding ways to come back and give the opposition a scare and the series win is a little asterisk for us to finish the 2020 season on a high. I feel the crowd was a factor as well, it's always giving you a dimension of motivation. Our crowd pulls us through sometimes, and Australia's too, and we as players feed off the crowd's energy. We need to take the same competitive attitude into the Tests, and having played here a few times, we can score runs as well. Once it's time to capitalize and score, we need to do that session by session. I'm sure the current side is stronger than last time (Test matches) and I'll see if I can play the tour match.
Aaron Finch | Australia captain: It was a great series, and we just happened to be on the wrong end of the first two. It's the first time we've had two leg-spinners in the side, and they were bold with the short boundaries here, so credit to both of them. Swepson bowled the 7th over against Shikhar and Virat, both destructive in their own ways, but Zamps bowled really well as well. We played some great white-ball cricket over the last 18 months and really proud of the bunch.
Mitchell Swepson: "It was obviously really nice to get some wickets through the middle there. It was nice to have an impact and a good way to finish on a win like that. You want to challenge yourself against the best and these guys have proven they are the best T20 side in the world at the moment. A great challenge and I loved every minute of it out there."
Mitchell Swepson is Man of the match for his match winning figures of 3/23 in his four.
Earlier in the day, Kohli won the toss and opted to chase again. Finch replaced Stoinis in the XI and opened with Wade. But he was dismissed for nought as he tried to attack Washington Sundar. Smith joined Wade and Wade started attacking the Indian bowlers. He belted the bowlers all around the park. Smith wasn’t finding his timing and eventually departed in the the 10th over. Maxwell joined forces with Wade and found regular boundaries. Chahal dismissed Maxwell of the no-ball. This changed the whole complexion of the innings as Maxwell started to take on the bowlers. Both Wade and Maxwell brought up their fifties. Wade was dismissed for 80 in the 19th over. The Indian fielders failed to take catches and eventually the hosts ended their innings on 186/5. Sundar was good with the ball picking 2 wickets. Natarajan too had a good game picking one wicket.
India had the worst start to their chase as Rahul departed for a nought in the very first over to Maxwell. In the same over, Kohli was dropped by Smith on the boundary. Kohli made full use of this opportunity as he was upto the task. He along with Dhawan started taking on bowlers and put on 74 for the second wicket. Dhawan was dismissed by Swepson in the 9th over for 28. It was no stopping for Kohli as he brought up another half century. Samson had a start but failed to capitalize. Shreyas Iyer departed for a golden duck and Swepson picked 3 wickets in his quota of 4 overs. Hardik Pandya joined Kohli and started the attack but it was too much to do in the end and eventually Australia beat India by 12 runs.
Kohli and Hardik were striking the ball cleanly and at one stage it was looking getable but some brave captaincy from Finch to bring on Zampa in the 18th over led to the wicket of Pandya and Kohli departed in the very next over. He was dismissed for a brilliant 85 but just couldn't get his team over the line.
India needed 76 from last 5 overs with Hardik and Kolhi at the crease. They kept going but it was too much to do in the end and they fell short by 12 runs. This loss means that the unbeaten streak of Men in Blue ends on 10 wins.

19.6 Sean Abbott to Shardul Thakur
2 Another dropped chance, short again, Thakur ends up pulling it down deep square and takes a couple as the fielder misses the catch, a fitting end to a series where dropped catches had become a norm, Australia wins the encounter but India wins the series
19.5 Sean Abbott to Shardul Thakur
0 short again from Abbott, Thakur goes for a pull but doesn't make any contact
19.4 Sean Abbott to Shardul Thakur
2 short on the stumps, Shardul hits this down deep square for a couple, didn't time it properly and Shardul is disappointed here
19.3 Sean Abbott to Shardul Thakur
6 SIX!!!! low full toss and Shardul smashes this down deep midwicket for a six, easy pickings, great shot from Thakur
19.2 Sean Abbott to Washington Sundar
W WICKET!!!!! full toss outside off, Sundar reaches out and hits this straight down the throat of the deep point fielder, Andrew Tye comes running in and completes a good catch, could have been a wide had Sundar left this alone
