Player Bio

Katie McGill is a seamer who represents the Scottish national team on the world stage. She is a promising fast-bowler who can bowl with great control and consistency, either the new or old ball. Apart from mastering the game, McGill also holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Engineering.

Born in Brighton, McGill’s initial career juggled in between England and New Zealand, before the seamer got selected for the 2015 World Cup qualifier squad and then made in the squad for the 2017 event. However, she got the opportunity to make her international debut in 2018 in a T20I clash against Uganda.

Since her debut, McGill has been an integral part of the Scottish team with her best performance of 3 for 13 against Germany Women. Apart from donning the Scottish colors, the seamer has also represented the Northern Spirit, Carlton CC, and the Wildcats.

In 2019, the pacer was named for the 2019 Qualifier Europe tournament in Spain and then played the World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in Scotland, where McGill was given the duty of the opening bowler to impress many.

McGill has been very impressive and successful in a short span of time. However, with Scotland not getting enough opportunities on the world stage, McGill is not getting her fair share to showcase the skills at the highest level.
