Player Bio

A Bloemfontein-born, South African international cricketer, a Yorkshire CCC professional - Duanne Oliver is a tall fast-bowler who operates with a front-on action and hits the deck at hard lengths, like countless South Africans to become a potent weapon. The seamer clocks in mid 90 mph, best-known for his reverse swing exploits and ability to break crucial partnerships.

Olivier is a former South Africa U-19s player, who made his first-class debut at the end of 2010-11, aged 19. However, he took around six years and stints at two clubs to be considered for national selection.

He was included in a South African Invitation XI to play the touring Sri Lankans in December 2016. A month later, Oliver was handed his Test cap against the Islanders at Johannesburg, while his ODI debut came in 2019 against Pakistan at home.

The former Protean played 10 Tests and two ODIs, scalping 51 international wickets including three fifers with the red-ball, before ending his international career for a Kolpak deal with Yorkshire. Olivier joined the White Rose on a three-year contract ahead of 2019, though his status has been reversed to overseas at the end of 2020, following the end of UK's transition period with the European Union.

Post-Brexit, Olivier now represents Yorkshire as a foreign player during the English summer, while representing Central Gauteng Lions in the South African domestic circles in the off-season.
