Bio
A canny leg-spinner and a handy lower-order batsman, Rehan Ahmed is a professional English cricketer for the Leicestershire Second XI team. Born in Nottingham, the 16-year old leggie first represented Yorkshire at the u-15s level in May 2018 and since then has featured for various ECB age-group sides being a part of Leicestershire Academy.
Rehan caught the eye of the national selectors producing match-winning performances with both bat and ball, including the career-best figures of 134 unbeaten and 4/17 with the ball in the victory over Derbyshire u-18 squad.
The youngster was named in the County’s XI team to face India in a warm-up three-day fixture, alongside the experienced Haseeb Hameed, Will Rhodes and Jake Libby but unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity in the playing XI. Rehan finally received a callup from the senior side in the 2021 Royal London Cup, making his debut against Yorkshire on July 25th 2021.
After his debut for Yorkshire’s limited-overs side, the 17-year old received was rewarded with his first professional contract in July 2021. At such a tender age, Rehan is a mature cricketer who is already billed as one of the brightest prospects in English cricket.
