Harishankar Reddy

Hailing from a remote village of Kadapa district, Harishankar Reddy is a young skiddy right-arm medium-pacer who plays domestic cricket for Andhra.

Reddy made his Twenty20 debut for Andhra in 2017-18 Zonal T20 League against Kerala. He impressed the cricket fraternity by picking 4 wickets in just 2 overs. Since then he has been a regular in the Andhra team. Reddy’s performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali  trophy 2020-21 put him under the radar of various IPL teams. 

Reddy shot to fame overnight when CSK bid for the youngster. He became the second cricketer from the Kadapa district to get selected in the IPL, when the three-time champions bought him for a base price of INR 20 lakhs ahead of the 14th edition of the lucrative T20 league.  

Known as a genuine wicket-taker, Reddy made his List A debut in the 2020-21 Vijay Hazare trophy against Vidarbha on February 20, 2021 but went wicketless. In the quarter-finals against Gujarat, Reddy scalped 3 wickets but ended up on the losing side.

Sharing the dressing-room with MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis, and others, would be a learning curvature for the youngster and with the death bowling skills he possesses, Reddy could well be the first choice bowler for CSK in the near future.
