Another fast bowler risen from the land of Afghanistan, Saleem is a right-arm fast bowler who relies on his raw pace to decimate the opposition.
The youngster made his first-class debut in 2019 playing for the Kunduz province. He scalped 4 wickets in the match and was impressive with his raw pace and bounce.
In the same season, he made his List-A debut playing for Amo Region and picked up 3 wickets at crucial junctures to propel his team to victory. The pacer caught the eyes of the selectors and was quickly fast-tracked for the future.
Fast forward to 2020 and Saleem earned his maiden T20 call-up. He was a part of the Boost defenders team for the Shpageeza Cricket League Tournament.
Saleem’s performances in the Shpageeza League impressed everyone and the youngster was drafted into the Afghanistan Test squad to play against Zimbabwe in March 2021. However, the speedster did not feature in the two-match Test series.
Raw pace and bounce is what defines Mohammad Saleem. A talented youngster who has all the tools to be a great fast bowler, Saleem is still raw at the moment and has to be nurtured by the Afghanistan coach to get the best out of him.
