Player Bio

Born in Pretoria on August 22, 1990, Graeme Van Buuren is a right-handed batter and left-arm orthodox bowler who plays for Gloucestershire. In his younger days, Buuren represented the South Africa U-19 side while sharing the dressing room with players like Temba Bavuma and Rilee Rossouw.

The all-rounder made his domestic debut in 2010 for the Northerns franchise. However, he opted for a Kolpak deal and joined Gloucestershire in 2015.

Buuren delivered impressive performances for the 2nd XI team, with 170 against Glamorgan as the best innings.

In the 2016 edition of County Championship Division Two, Buuren got the opportunity with the 1st XI team and smashed 459 runs at an average of 45.90, with two centuries. These performances helped him cement his place in the team.

In December 2021, the talented all-rounder was granted British Citizenship, which helped him prolong his career with Gloucestershire.

Earlier this year, Buuren was appointed as the captain of the Gloucestershire team for the First-Class and List-A formats.

In six matches of the 2022 edition of County Championship 2022, Buuren has made 94 runs and picked up eight wickets.

The 31-year-old cricketer has registered the top score of 235, 119*, and 64 in First-Class, List A, and T20 formats, respectively. He has scalped a total of 213 wickets across all the formats.
